Happy Magnacut Monday!

It did rain all day as forecast, though mostly not that hard and often just barely, but the wind gusted considerably and, though it wasn't really raw, it was certainly a dark and unpleasant day. I worked for a few hours on club business, recording tryout sign-ups and adding new family emails to a fresh contact list along with checking addresses for those looking to return. I did venture out for some brief errands and met here with one of my coaches to discuss his roster, practice gyms and times as he finally returned his b-balls from last season.

I headed out before dinner to snap some knife pics, but it was dark and wet so I ducked into the wood shop to shoot a few on my messy work table. I bought this Firetac from a friend here who acquired it as modded from AZCK. I think most of us that augment our knives like to add matching or complimentary components, but this one has a lot disparate add-ons from its distressed clip to the copper over-travel stop, bronze filler, and brass thumb disc to go along with the original battle-black blade/liner/lock-side slab/stand-offs, darkly anodized Ti screws and stop pin, and aftermarket two-tone,OD Micarta scale with subtly darker stripping achieved by really shallow, intermittent furrowing. I've added a King Tut paracord lanyard with a bead featuring four different Micarta discs separated by thin brass spacers surrounding a flared brass tube. I really like the borderline chaotic jumble of elements thrown together and this knife makes for a great Motley Micarta Monday carry.

On top of all that, the RHK Firetac is a really great user with its slightly re-curved CPM20CV blade and one of my favorite RHKs.
