Completed my make a first knife milestone.
Still can play around with finish and different handles. Really happy with the results. Ended up being slicier than anything else I have.

We made use of this last nice weekend to pick and start processing into jelly. This makes the house swell wonderfulView attachment 3016430
Wonderful. So reminds me of my mother, who used to make jelly for a couple of weeks every year, and the whole house smelled like it. The best was her Quince jelly, yummy. RIP, mom.

First full day with this Barry Barnardt (
) Nyx.
Extremely dressy knife.. 1.6 oz (if you’ve never handled a knife this size that weighs under 2 ounces it’s hard to properly ascertain the feel), almost entirely made of carbon fiber (aside from the blade, pivot, hardware, clip), and a delightfully easy to use front flipper.
Disappears in pocket and the opening/closing action is likewise lightweight and satisfying to play with.
Blade is cryo-treated RWL34, and THIN.
Clip is titanium and attaches with no hardware- it’s folded through the scale and is attached internally, next to the nested liner-lock- pic below. It is thin and super low profile, flexible, and doesn’t feel like much when held.

The HX Outdoors Fluorite is one of the cheapest folders with titanium scales so it made sense to break out a good budget smoke....

Me to although a Padron not the 1964 or 1926 anniversary I normally get. But OMG is it tasty and burning well and as the norm with Padrons perfect draw.The HX Outdoors Fluorite is one of the cheapest folders with titanium scales so it made sense to break out a good budget smoke....
