Back in my college days when I worked in a convenience store, an itinerant knife sharpener guy dropped by and made a bid to sharpen our deli knives. Since I wasn't in charge of making those decisions I said, sorry, no. He then asked if I carried a pocketknife, and offered to sharpen it if I did. Turns out I carried the same knife you have here. I asked to see a sample of his work. He handed me his $200.00 Spyderco. I don't remember the model, only that it had an OD green handle and one heck of a spring, and though it was certainly sharp, it looked like he had crudely sandpapered the entirety of the blade, not just the edge. I handed the knife back to him and said no thanks. Too bad. He seemed a likable enough sort, but unimaginably careless with the application of his grinder.
Your pictures make me wonder: did your knife start out with serrations that the local knife shop removed, or was that simply the byproduct of time and many previous sharpening?
