Hmmm, yeah that sounds good, a little easing off on both the detent and lock release. One of these days one of us will have to press that overtravel stop off and see what a little tweaking to the lockbar does!Reading your reply here got me thinking about what I'd written earlier and I realized I'd done something a bit different with my 'Zaan than my usual dab of grease on detent balls, which smooths and eases the action in both directions. Backing up a bit here for clarity, I always make that application of Finish Line to knives with conventional lock bar interfaces, i.e. ti on steel or steel on steel, which, for CRKs, would include only the 3/21's in my accumulation as the 25, 'Zaan, Inkosi's, and 31's all have the ceramic ball interface. As you'd mentioned, I'm always careful to keep any oil off conventional lock bars and ramps is it does create lock stick by letting the the lock bar travel further.
As you had mentioned adding the tiniest bit of leftover oil to the ceramic ball, I did put that little dab of fluoro grease there and it does seem to ease the release a little and there's no stick so far. Guess I'll carry the StarTac for a while and see how that goes....
Very nice. Where’re you at ?
Makers and models on both knives, please ?

I shoulda let you answer!I should have read ahead before responding! lol
Some genius told me I need to try a Burger. Fantastic recommendation Amigo!
This is all great stuff ! Thank you.Hey man! Front flipper is a Trevor Burger Custom LEXK, outstanding in every way. Fixed is aBlasted Hill Knives , also amazing and carries like dream in my back pocket..
Confession. The Blasted Hill is not mine, it's my 8 year old Odins. A great friend of his (norcalAF ) gave it to him for his Birthday. I keep trying to trade him for it, but he ain't having it! lol
Yeah, I could live functionally without the OTS, but it's handsome and the knife would look like crap with a big void and a hole there. Speaking of looks, I love the Wilson Combat Starburst pattern on the five of their knives I have. This StarTac has worn very nicely over the years I've had it with the way the snail trails appear intermittently over the blasted, fluted Ti. I had just missed a couple of 'Zaans on the Exchange years ago and stumbled upon this one just after it posted and decided to spend the extra few bucks for it. Sure glad I did.Hmmm, yeah that sounds good, a little easing off on both the detent and lock release.
