It’s a very usable blade and the handle is ergonomic like you mentioned! One of the better detents on a liner lock too. Way of knife has some titanium scales for the Magnacut RAT 1.5 in stock…may have to try some of those.

I went out to the truck after I wrote earlier and fished my RAT out of the door. It was dirty and pretty stiff as it had just sat there for a long time after its last use. I cracked it open and cleaned it up inside and out and lubed its odd washer arrangement--phospher-bronze against the liners with paper-thin white teflon or nylon washers against the blade--with TriFlow. The black painted clip was all chipped up and looked like crap, so I sanded it down to bare metal and it looks pretty good now. The AUS8 blade was still wicked sharp and the knife flicks out easily now with a solid chonk!!

I was diggin' it and that made it pretty easy to go over to KC and order an S35VN Red RAT and go to WoK and get a pair of those sweet blue Micarta scales. Now I've gotta figure out a clip and will more than likely do it again for my son's b-day, as I expect I'll be happy with it.

That said I had a pretty mixed carry today, as I started it out with high-end Flourishes...





...and finished the day with a cleaned up Old Rat.
