This is a truly pleasant and comfortable knife. The handle is crystalline titanium, and the blade is DLC coated. The blade is 3.5 inches long and weighs only 2.4 ounces.

And a pic of one of my friends that came out for a little sun yesterday. We've had these black snakes living in the wood pile for years. They keep the rodent population down. This one's about five feet long, and from the bulge in the middle, it looks like it's eaten recently.

That tanto is a surprisingly good slicer.
Too bad they vanished before I picked up the clip point.

I was gonna carry another lock-back today, following up on yesterday's Native Chief, but saw these two posts which got my two Utilitac II's out into the light of day this morning. They were gifts from my son quite a few years back and live in a drawer with a Civivi he gave me plus a few other budget knives, early acquisitions, and a couple old beaters.

I honestly never thought of these as "great knives" but they certainly are substantial, well made, useful, and were sharp AF out of the box. I've never been much for tanto blades and this one has a particularly pronounced angularity to it, but, as W Weiss mentioned, it is a surprisingly good slicer and it has a nice straight run of blade that's good for paring. Its oddly shaped handle is also surprisingly good in hand.

OTOH, I'm finding I really like the clip point one, and it's in my pocket today. I do favor a nice subtle re-curve and the blade also has a great belly and pointy swedged tip. The rounded FRN handle is very comfortable. There's really nothing wrong with AUS8 steel, either, as I have that in my Al Mars, which are some of my favorites, and it's comparable to 440C, another alloy that I like in some of my older blades--not a "modern super-steel", but still nicely sharpen-able and more than capable of cutting stuff.
