EDC'ing 2+ knives?

S35-VN Slipjoint with a pocket clip (Cold Steel Lucky One), and a Cold Steel Urban Pal IWB.

Something light, with GREAT edge retention for daily use, and a small fixed blade if I come across any heavier tasks.

I also carry a Leatherman Style PS, but am considering replacing it with a Style CS, if so I would have one more knife blade.

At home or after hours I only carry a single knife ( Delica )
At work I always back the Deilca up with a Leatherman Surge on my belt .

Modified manix 2 in pocket, leatherman in backpack, boker colubris in driver door, axe in the back.

Great story. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome. It was one of those defining moments in my development. Every time I relate the story, it brings back a lot of good memories of hanging out and working with him.

"They" say that the events of our childhood affect us all our lives. The same grandfather had given me my first pocket knife, an Imperial peanut, when I started 1st grade, saying -

"Now that you're starting school, we can't have you borrowing someone else's knife all the time."

Back then, it was just the culture of farming community Texas that a kid needed a knife in school, for sharpening pencils, opening boxes and packages, cutting string or rope. Probably 99% of the boys and 75% of the girls carried some kind of folding knife at school. Same ratio of teachers carried as well.

Yea Im in grade 11 now and not even allowed to have a small multitool on my keychain -facepalm-

Always two... A Perrin La Griffe custom as a neck knife and a Dozier Sub Compact on my belt. The La Griffe is left razor sharp the those just in case moments while the Sub Compact does everything from whittling to letter opening amazingly well for such a small knife 😃

If I clip a folder to my pocket, I am carrying at least two by default because of this:

However, I generally sit at 4, 5 if I'm at work. Roadie on the keys, folder in front right pocket, slippie in rear right pocket, fixed on my belt, two fixed if I'm at work.

It's definitely not out of necessity, I'll just say that. I gave up on not doing whatever the hell I wanted to a year ago and it has been absolutely wonderful.

The pickup of the day in the pants'pocket, another one in the backpack or whatever I'm carrying that day, and probably another one in the jacket.
Not to mention the resident car knife.
Used to carry a Gerber Guardian boot dagger but I need a proper sheath for it, the issued one is damn too bulky and noisy.

Usually, in that order:
Seb 25/Benchmade Rift serrated/Emerson Super Roadhouse/CQC 15 straight/Spydie Endura4 in pocket
Bench Rift/Police/Endura in luggage
Perceval T45/CRKT KISS in jacket/suit
Resident Car Knife is... some huge European folder I can not name and I'm too lazy right now to check the glovebox but it has a nice blade :)

So I carry 4, and I don't feel at all like a maniac.

If this country's laws (Canada) were allowing it, I'll also get a tiny Cold Steel pushdagger as a key ring ornament.

Some canadian laws are pretty imbecile. Auto knives aren't allowed but assisted are. Literally no difference. Even ninja stars are illegal...

Folding knife on left pocket (usually a Pacific Salt), folder/multitool on the right pocket, and SAK or fixed blade on the belt, that's my usual carry.

18mm Olfa knife and a Milwaukee folding hawkbill. I am a painting contractor by trade. I keep a leatherman close by and some days I carry a Spyderco Police SS Serrated.

I keep a Pelican 1920 penlight in my pocket too.

Just tok a pic of my EDC today.

The tools vary and rotate but the type of tool or knife tends to remain the same, and remains in the same pocket or carry position

Different blades for different uses

Been changing things around a lot lately and experimenting, but never more than two. I did little experimentation for years. Lately, it varies depending on the day. They include a Vic Adventurer, Hen & Rooster small stockman, larger GEC or Northwoods traditional in a leather slip, Vic Bantam, ZT 0770CF, Spydie Delica, Kiwi 4, or Native 5, and now adding a LionSTEEL Opera to the mix. Since early this year, I have had a Leatherman Squirt PS4 on my key ring. It technically has a blade, so that could make it three. I tend to do a large and small mix or large and thin. But my large is not that large.

My changing a lot lately is about deciding if I need anything larger than a Vic Bantam or small traditional folder. The outcome so far is that I can do almost everything I normally do with a small folder, but I still prefer something with about a 3" blade. The Delica, Native 5, ZT 0770CF are all sized about the same.

I occasionally will carry a small fixed blade and one folder. The folder sees all the use and I ask myself why I bother with a fixed blade at all unless I am in the woods and then it is more because I think I should have a fixed blade with me rather than needing it much.

If you count the Victorinox Alox Mini Champ on my key ring, then I always carry two pocket knives: the Mini Champ and a Vic Alox Cadet. Some days (like today) that's all I have on me. Other days I will carry something else in addition. Usually a small to medium Case slipjoint of some type. I leave a larger locking folder in my car in case I need something sturdier.

Hi! An ever present multi-tool and one folder (in weekly rotation) is my standard carry. So yes, I think this can count as two blades at least :).

Of course plus flash-light, keys, cell phone, minimum first aid kit (kids always manage some scratches, cuts, bruises, something into their eyes, etc.), lighter, glasses case, etc., etc. :D

Today carry:

Most of the time just one knife for me, but mostly because of my job/lifestyle (and because slippies often have two blades anyway). Only place I go with multiple blades is the outdoors.

Butterflies are also illegal... Damn I'm so good with them :(

Gun laws are on par, total nonsense: AK's are prohibited, but a VZ 58 is unrestricted. Go figure :)
