Recently won a custom Harvey McBurnette, I paid within minutes, but no communication, so far two emails unanswered. No answer at the phone # supplied by Ebay, no answering machine, just hangs up after more than a few rings.

The knife was won below normal market, IMHO, because he misspelled the name and I just happened upon it while searching custom knives.

Just wondering about any other forum members experience?

I am pretty sure that is Jeff Stover in Torrance, CA. I have not dealt with him but I have talked to him many times over the years at knife shows, most recently at Knife Expo last month in Pasadena, CA. He is a legitimate purveyor with a brick and mortar shop. Dunno why the communication problems, but I think it will work out OK.

I won a knife in one of his Ebay auctions a while backand had a good experience.

Thank You, I was not going to mention his name, but it is Jeff T. The only thing that made me concerned was, the Knife by Harvey went for 821, Nordic Knives had four on their site not too long ago and all were sold for 2,150 and above in less than a day. I was afraid he would just back out. I do not think the auction attracted as many collectors as it normally would have had he spelled Harvey's last name correctly. He separated the Mc Burnette instead of one name. It only had four bidders. I will try again, but he has not answered a 3rd email or a phone. Do you have other numbers, such as his store # or home #, don't know which Ebay gave me.
Thanks Again,
James

Just an update, finally found another # for Jeff & reached him, said knife was mailed yesterday, just has not had time to answer emails. Was not at office, promised email with tracking later today, we will see.:)

Got the email containing a tracking number for USPS, but USPS says no such #. I emailed again asking for new tracking #, his reply was he would have post office to track. It took 2 more emails to get that much information. I have not heard back since that last one. And no new tracking number, why would the PO have to track it, with online tracking available? I am confused and wonder at the delays of information. Perhaps, I am just paranoid.:confused::grumpy:

That happens all the time. Don't panic.

Thanks, it is always nice to hear words of comfort and expert advice I really mean that, "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" "Don't Panic" .:eek::eek: , I panic because I am thinking all sorts of bad things that could happen. IE: He is only taking time to move the money, not really shipped, I told you I was paranoid.

USPS does not have any real tracking. There are some levels of shipping that can only be tracked thru their system. I just got finished filing a claim for a $550.00 knife that was shipped on December 18,2007. No one has any idea where it was at because our rural PO was not required to scan it after I bought ins. Had it been a larger PO they would have been required to scan it into the system. Go figure.

Edgedealer mailed when he said he did, package received and Harvey's Knife is perfect. Would buy from him again. I told you I was paranoid. I will say, he is probably busy and not the best at answering emails, but everything else ended perfect. Thanks for the encouragement guys, I made it through.:thumbup::thumbup:
