EDK in Maple

Will i received the knife today all i can say is WOW the knife fits perfectly in my hand i love the maple.

Hi Will, that's a great looking blade! And the handle looks superb!

Is it sharp enough to easily/cleanly slice paper, or is it more of a heavy-duty sharpening? What sort of edge and angle do you put on it? And can you make one with a pocket sheath?

It's more of a paper slicing or hair shaving edge or apple peeling, cream cheeze spreading according to Lorien :p. I do a 20 degree, 1000x polished edge on the blades. I can make one with my regular pocket sheath with a swiveling clip that Lorien and others love so much. I'll shoot you a pm and if you're interested, we can work out the details.

i just picked up a very similar knife that i asked Will to make me. i agree with FB from kingshoc, fine knife, good looking, fits my hand well, sharp, and fine sturdy sheath. excellent deal for under $100.
i also discovered that Will Leavitt is a kind man with a big heart. but, you guys probably already knew that.

Boy you sure could sneak up on someone with that buitt.Very nice , Ithought i knew maple but you now ...my maple dosnt look like that at all . Is it a special kind. I feel like i just asked a stupid question but I would like to youse it some time.

Chris, it's "big leaf" maple, has a more reddish tint than sugar maple.
 
Hey Will, i carry this knife everyday perfect size if anyone is looking for a smaller knife that fits your hand i know Will can make you one and the maple is what really makes my knife
 
Based on this thread I ordered an EDK from Will made with stabilized redwood burl and copper mosaic pins. It arrived today and what a beautiful knife it is. The burl is as nice as any I have seen and the workmanship is exceptional.

I've purchased over a dozen knives in the past year and this one is by far the best bargain I've gotten.

If you are looking for an every day user that is both elegant and functional I would highly recommend that you get one of these.

On top of all of this Will is one hell of a great guy to deal with. I think that he e-mailed me at least six times along the way keeping me posted on the knife's progress.

Yup, Every Day Knife, I was calling it a 'pocket" knife but Lorien, the first guy to buy one called it an EDK in his review because he said he's sick and tired of "EDC this and EDC that." Voila! EDK
