Edmund Davidson

Here is one big Integral knife - the "Orgazmatron" as Edmund calles it,
in its basic phase . It is now at Jere Davidson's to be fully engraved and
it will probably be finished by this Summer.

What you see here is the beginning stages of creating the full page
illustration for this piece. The fully engraved bare steel will go on next
and then the finished knife....

I talked to him a month or so ago on the phone for about 45min. after inquiring about a Loveless Design.I would have to say he is one of the more entertaining guys I've talked to.He always had a one liner and a joke to crack. But man does he know his craft. I plan on buying a knife from him but, since wait time is 3-8 years and the knife I am looking at is over $1300 I will have to save my pennies. Worth it though. Just stunning work.

How is the "stock removal" accomplished with such knives. I have read that some full integrals are forged, but that would seem unlikely with such complex designs as Davidson's, Kressler's, and Ron Best's (to name a few I am familiar with). I suppose a combination of CNC and forging is used?

It is most unlikely with Edmund's Full Integrals. You have to hold one in
your hand and inspect it carefully only to be bewildered by the amazing
workmanship and the clearly obvious fact that it was made from one
bar of high quality steel....
