Educate me on the Scandi grind

I have used all types of knives for 25 years and I find that scandi-grinds outperform any other type of grinds when it comes to carving wood.
I mean, it's effortless to create shavings of wood with a Scandi. However, many scandi-ground blades chip and roll;
but, one can give the grind a bit more angle, so as to increase the edge retention.
