I have this to say.......

My Lionspy? Flat out, this thing holds an edge and continues to put a smile on my face...

My best friends elmax 0561? he beat the $%^#^&@ out of that knife for months and it still had a usable edge... IS it the baddest stuff out there? Maybe, maybe not but regardless what is said here, I'm sure there's an elmax knife out there that wasn't and that's where the questions fall into place.

Pound for pound, I believe elmax to be a very good steel however, like many great steels, if the heat treatment isn't correct, it's susceptible to what I like to call taking a dump.
 
I haven't done anything but cut with my new ZT0801, But the edge retention is MUCH better than my ZT0560 was new. Makes me wonder how awesome it will be after a good re profile.

So I am now convinced ELMAX is a SUPER steel.
 
I re profiled my 0801. Skinned a deer, skinned a couple of deer heads for skull mounts. It needed a minor touch up to bring it back to tp slicing sharp.
