Elusive Schrades

Fran, thanks for the kind offer! - - - :D
Here's another example of the Schrade Cut. Co. stainless knives. This one is another Jack from Mark's collection, proudly etched "Stainless Steel". But the acceptance of Stainless was still a ways off. . . . .
Boy, that Peachseed bone gets to me every time I look at it. This is a particularly nice example.

Fantastic Charlie! Thanks for showing them, Mark has some exceptional knives. The bone is outstanding.

This thread has been sleeping for a while. It had a good start, but never seemed quite complete. Ken Erickson asked me a question about a knife in it, and brought the thread back to my attention, so I thought I'd add a few more goodies to it.
First is a knife with a neat blade in it that Schrade called a "Zulu Spear" in its 1920s catalog. Some of you have seen it before, but I think it deserves mention here.
Tony Bose rightly called the blade a modified Wharncliffe, and liked the name so much, he started calling his version, which he'd been making for years, a Zulu!

This knife has an extra nice bomb shield, IMO!

Now here is a simple Jack, but with a screwdriver instead of the usual pen knife. First one I'd ever seen, in a Schrade Cut. Co. stamping! I theorize they didn't make many, and most were damaged by applying too much torque, and discarded! This one survived by living in a salesman's roll!

Charlie, This is a wonderful thread! I have referenced it many times. Thanks for bringing it back to life with new pictures. Also your scans of the double end jack made my day!

As fate would have it, I picked this up on Saturday. It advertises Zenith Radio Cabinets. The condition is not quite as nice as Charlie's salesman's sample. It's stamped SCHRADE CUT CO WALDEN NY on both blades.

Nice find, Barry! I am fond of French Ivory.

you truly have some of the most beautiful old knives!
Not to be grim but when i pass i'm haunting your collection:D
Can't tell you how many times i'm sitting at the computer and bore the wife with your pictures:D
Thank you!

This knife is actually a factory altered Stockman, making it a Typesetter's knife! It is in a Schrade catalog as such. Schrade took a punch, and ground/cut it down into an awl, to assist in wedging/tightening type for a printing press.
