I have these that were given to me by my family last Christmas. They're ugly as all hell & I cringe every time I see them. They're displayed in my living room & promptly hidden away whenever we have company.

Ah, good ol' 1095. Love the steel. At least your mom had good tastes in the knife she got you.
I was kind of a big fan of the Hunted movie. Thats where she got the idea I think. But I grew out of that a long time ago. Its going in the trunk of my cat tomorrow, may be it will come in handy later on.

My spider-sense is tingling. I sense... the worst knives ever! It would be funny if they were made with a good steel though.I have these that were given to me by my family last Christmas. They're ugly as all hell & I cringe every time I see them. They're displayed in my living room & promptly hidden away whenever we have company.

Um... what?Alas, I too tried to make a good all-purpose knife like the Tracker, but overwhelmed, I got lost in the design phase - embarrassed, I sent it back yesterday and asked that it be fixed. Short of that, that more be made, in both A2 & CPM154, in this thickness and thinner, in this blade length and shorter, and in the shorter/thinner blade length in both steel types with a sharpened swedge...with Kydex sheaths and carbon fiber handles too. I know, embarrassing for a first knife attempt - WTF was I thinking? Ashamed, so ashamed...

If you dont mind me asking what is wrong with the knife? I know that the QC on lockup was always a problem (especially the 889, either wouldnt lock or was at 100% brand new) but even still as a slipjoing the knife works
Scrawny linerlock, weird lock-up, off center blade, stippling on upper third of blade, G10 scales coarse enough to grate cheese with--that's enough for me.
The blade looks to be deliberately off-center as washers of a different thickness are used on either side; when opened the lock sort of wobbles into
position about 2/3 over to the right; not confidence inspiring. The stippling makes it impossible to cut through anything cleanly without fouling
the top of the blade, which, btw, is quite heavy.
