I've been looking at multifuel stoves lately and came across this one that looks very promising.

When he starts production, I'm going to get one to test out. I really like the fact that it packs down flat and small, doesnt weigh a ton, is durable yet strong, and is big enough to burn decent sized wood pieces. That and the fact it doesnt cost an arm and a leg!

What do you all think?

looks about as functional as the heavy "pocket cooker" I see in backwoodsman but 1/3 the weight

eggs in a bag was one of my dads camping tricks too

He needs to put some holes in the bottom of the burn plate...that would allow some of the finer ash to keep it from building up too much; of course you have to be careful with what the stove is sitting over. I like it...it's a lot like Vargo's folding stove but that "feed door" is really a good idea. Keep us updated,

Hi guys. I'm tickled my vid has made it over here.

here are the specs of the stove... 6 inches tall, 3.5 in wide at the top, 4.5 in base. 100% mad in the USA from stainless steel. It'll weight at about 8 oz. My prototype is of slightly heavier steel than the production model.

As far as holes on the bottom.. my first designs had holes on the bottom and they simply didn't burn as efficiently. I built these elaborate stoves only to find that a soup can with holes in it burned more efficiently. I have a theory as to why holes on the bottom didn't burn as cleanly in my tests. I believe that my setup combines O2 with the pyrolitic gases from the wood in the right area of the stove to burn clean and hot with out smoke. This allows the stove to function the way it does by feeding in long bits of fuel instead of constantly feeding it small bits of wood. Also, I wanted a stove that didn't deposit any hot coals or ash on the ground below. So far I've been able to keep my stove burning for near two hours with without any problem with ash clogging the vents.

I'll have the website up and running within a few hours (hopefully). The first run of stoves will take 2-3 weeks for delivery.

if you guys have any questions please feel free to pm or email me. I don't want to get in trouble with the mods for advertising on the board. :D

Yeah, as I started to think about it, with holes in the bottom plate, you really have to be carefull as to where you set it. Also, no holes allows you to use more options for a base, even a chunk of bark as you mentioned. Very cool idea indeed...

That looks nice. Solid construction, great video presentation, super easy to light and keep going. It's a shame the shipping flat rate doesn't cover international shipping, I'd probably buy that thing in a heartbeat :D I love when people are unsatisfied with what the market offers and make their own stuff instead of just bragging that their "perfect stove" isn't being made.

That is awesome. I have the pocket cooker and it is heavy for such a small stove. Great Idea.
I am alwasy in need of another stove:D

Hey everyone, the response this week has been phenomenal. Enough so that I have a really heavy box by my foot full of stainless steel goodness. I'm packaging today, and will be shipping on monday.

Last month I was camping with a group of folks over in Idaho, and Mr.NWMANITOU was one of those folks, and I got to see his stove in action. It's a very nice stove,I say if you are looking for a lightweight camping stove----Buy it

Very cool looking stove!
Any chance these may eventually be made out of titanium?

nwmanitou,what is your first name?
I would like to email you.
(I have the address off the website)

Thanks Montana Blade... I'm gonna guess who this may be... you drove mako back to missoula right? Hehe.

Thanks for the compliment on the stove. I do love simplicity in design. Ah, I am currently trying to source titanium for my manufacturer. Purely exploratory at the moment. So far I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for at a decent price.

Man, I just realized that I only have 4 posts...My apologies to the mods of the forum and my sincerest thanks for allowing me to continue this thread.... I guess for relevance sake... I'm just starting to make my own knives. I've already made a couple blanks that are just about ready to heat treat. In addition I've drawn up a good number of knife and machete designs, and a couple of them are in or soon to be in production. I'm hoping that I'll be able to use some of the profits from my stoves to buy a decent grinder.

I just ordered one going to Houston. I hope that box contains enough material for mine. :D

I dropped all the stoves off at the post office this morning. So they should start arriving in a couple days. Please feel free to send me feedback. And while I've done everything I can to ensure the orders were processed correctly, if there is a problem, please contact me immediately so I can make things right.

The Slings, man, the Slings!! :)

I was able to see this in Idaho recently, too, I'm getting a couple of them. I've got the pocket stove and this is much more compact, lighter and not like a Chinese jigsaw puzzle to assemble and stow.
