Yeah, everyone that has ever voted for Al Gore is a nature expert and accomplished outdoorsman. You can't argue with either stupid or ignorant, I agree.

No coincidence that the King of the Morons (Natureboy) seems to be a disciple of Bear Girl.
 
I too scared myself silly years ago. I was experienced in the Sierras and had some gear, but I was unprepared for three days/nights in snow/rain in the Rockies. (First trip to Rockies.) That experience began a life long search for better gear and training. Now I plan for overnight no matter what the hike.

Statistics tells us that if you do it wrong enough times, it will catch up with you. Someone who doesn't learn from their mistakes or the mistakes of others is bound to suffer. They probably won't be around to explain their mistakes to others.
