Emerson custom

if ya decide ya dont want it give me a shout before ya send it back or anything,

the '12 at steeladdiction is a custom and thats not a bad price on it,

I will, but I doubt I will not like it. I just checked the shipping and it is out for delivery now.

I thought that custom was a good price also.

Talk to you later!

Just got it. Well built, locks tight, smooth to open, but, Does not flip all the way open using the wave. Maybe it needs to break in?

Got lucky. I checked on emerson about cqc12 all ti last week and it's available. Got it yesterday. It's very very good knife and feels right on the hand.

maybe the pivot is too tight?? is it just stiff??

I think I am just used to the 19-eleven. That opens so easily is has spoiled me. I think it may have to do with the coating on the blade. Where the little ball on the lock rides on the side of the blade is the cause of friction. It is getting better. I think it just needs to wear a groove in the coating.

By the way, I like the 19-11 better but that is good. I will not feel as bad using this one.

Maybe it is too tight, but I don't think so

The 19-eleven looks like it could kick the 12's ass.

Thanks for the input!

STR,
I see you have a titanium framelock with black blade from your sig. Any input on this?
Thanks!

Yeah well thats one I built myself just the other day. I listed it in my homepage link F/S the other day. I ordered that knife through a friend that said he could get it for me for a good price about a year ago. Then 8 months later he told me I may as well forget it because the friend said he didn't think he was going to be able to get it. Then about three months later out of the blue and at the worst possible time for $ situation it showed up at my door so I took it since its always been one of my favorite models and I felt committed to it. I'd love to keep it but I've got a situation where I had to list it.

I've converted two 14s and one 13 and now this 8 in the last year. My frame locks are pretty beefy. .160 instead of .125 thick and I purposely make my lock relief cut out thicker at the lock bend. This one seen here is .060 there vs the .033 to .039 seen on most of Ernie's. Not that his don't work, they do. They are easier to close than mine that way but my philosphy is that anyone using a 'hard use knife' could care if the lock is a 'mans lock' that requires a bit of push to close it when you are done with it. I think thats how it should be personally unless you want a knife to sit around opening and closing all day as a habit in which case buy a small gents folder. :D

Anyway you can read about it in the homepage link in my profile some also. Oh and I got the number wrong there. Its number 923.
You can also see better pics of this one and the others I've done if you search at my forum I share with my buds over at the KF. http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/793985/

It is funny that you speak of the knife blade opening and closing all day long. As much as I like the easy action of the 1911, I have had it open by itself in my pocket to find myself reaching in for my wallet and stabbing myself pretty badly.

Yeah I have basketball palming hands myself and like a big knife when I can get away with carrying one. Most of the time I carry one a bit smallish in the city but these days sheeple friendly is pretty much on everyones mind. When I do carry a big knife like this one with nearly a 4" blade I often times carry a smaller one too just incase something comes up that I do have to pull it out in a public area or if someone asks me if they can use it.

Thanks.
