UPDATE:
Just got off the phone with Emerson (they called me). EKI is taking care of the whole situation as you all have clearly told me they would. This time around I have nothing but great things to say about the conversation I had with customer service. Thanks for good old American business. I'll post some pics when it comes in and maybe change my perception around here. Hope to be a contributing member around these parts.

To preface: I have been using and buying knives for a long time, I am an active duty Marine and have been issued a few nice knives as well....

I finally caved in and placed an order at Midway USA for a CQC-15, it showed up and was the old production model. I returned it and decided to purchase directly from Emerson. $250.00 for this knife and you know what they do? They ship it to the wrong address! I call and they say there is nothing they can do. That they are sorry and hopefully the people at the other address either return it or forward it? Are you kidding me? That is the most ridiculous customer service I have ever had. Truly disappointing. I am a true patriot and thought I would support and American company I thought was doing things right. (Based off thorough research on this site! Thanks)... Well maybe not. :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

Your first post is you taking a shit in Emersons living room.

I've ordered directly from EKI themselves and they print the label as its typed it in.

That's all I have to say.

It is entirely true. The rest of the facts are that it was shipped to the billing address and not the shipping address as it clearly states on the Invoice. In addition I THINK or more like HOPE the tenant renting my house 500 miles away might answer the phone tonight when I get off work so I can work something out. I am not saying I have a problem with Emerson Knives. Why do you think I forked over FULL retail? I am saying this is un-satisfactory. If it works out and I get the knife then I will edit the post accordingly. I apologize if being brutally honest is upsetting. I am upset as well.

EmersonREP, if this is still not entirely true, say so and I will PM you then.

So instead of waiting to see if our shipping mistake could be resolved you come on this forum to bash us?? Wow. I guess you've never made an honest mistake before.

I sure have made many mistakes. I understand them, and am sympathetic. However, with a first time customer committing $250.00 (not pocket change for me) I would have done more to resolve the situation. I'll let everyone know how it works out. It is what it is.

Your original post makes is sound like it was shipped to some wrong random address, not your billing address. If you are going to post a negative thread be clear with your info.

If Emerson shipped your knife to the wrong address they should and will take full responsibility of it. But, if they shipped it to your billing address instead of your shipping address that you preferred I really don't see this as a huge issue. In the end it went to YOUR billing address, not others'. Right? I'm just saying.

This makes it sound like we talked you into buying a knife knowing there would be issues. This IS a great site to research and learn. Many people here do support Emerson Knives and will continue to, this is a small mess up and will be resolved I'm sure. Emerson's customer support has only perfect with me and many other members here and few mistakes have come along the way. I do hope they resolve it properly (which I'm sure they will) however creating a profile to only come here and bash on EKI ans us isn't the proper way to go about it.

Its hard to believe YOUR tenant won't forward you the package. And its hard to believe YOUR tenant won't answer phone calls from his LANDLORD. Would have appreciated if this was aired had your tenant went AWOL with the knife, and you weren't able to get hold of him.

I understand things like this do upset the buyer, especially for an expensive item, but then I also firmly believe rationality should take precedence over emotions. Would like to see this resolved to the satisfaction of both - you as well as Emerson's. Oh, and being an active duty Marine has no bearing on this situation. Good luck!

That might very well be what happens, I am not the landlord I have a property management company. I just so happen to have contact info. BUT I believe they will be accommodating.

Also I put the Marine part in there because I have zero rep here and I thought it might paint the picture that I am not some whiny yuppie. Guess not.

I was talked into buying an Emerson, but my thanks was sincere and I truly appreciate this site. It is very thorough and I do not have much to contribute so I read and read and read from a distance. Was hoping to maybe join with this knife purchase, just not this way.

For everyone's sake the billing address is the wrong address. Billing=NC and Shipping=MD. The invoice reflected this. I did my part upon ordering.

Tranparencey is important, point taken, I thought it might be useless info. I am wrong.

You are all making me feel like I was in the wrong. I really would like to just get my knife. I am glad to see this was a glitch. Thanks all. I appreciate the feed back. Sincerely

I can understand your frustration, but this sounds like the normal kind of foul-up most businesses run into now and again. Don't get me wrong, it sounds like it's definitely their mistake, but things like this are sort of inevitable when doing business on the internet. Hope it gets resolved quickly.

Call your tenant tonight. Let him know whatsup. I understand you're miffed but everyone makes mistakes. Plus you made it sound a little worse than it is. It was still your billing address, not like they shipped it to some random person.

Hope this gets sorted out quickly and easily.

I'm confused has to why your billing address is a rental someone else lives at? So they receive your bills? No offense intended, but that seems odd to me, not that I'm a complete stranger to confusion. ;)

Did you speak to someone when you ordered it? or did you order it online? Shipping labels get printed out with the information from the shipping screen and the billing info doesn't even get shared. It's an automatic process with items that are ordered using an online form.

I ordered online through paypal this one time. They have my different accounts and cards so that when I checkout I choose how to pay. I chose a card I never used before but all the account info for everything was current and correct including shipping address.

The guy I ordered from is well known for speedy deliveries. Two days later I check the tracking info and it's headed to my old address. I called the post office, told them what's up. Now my new address here in Florida is about a mile and a half from my old address.

The package was in town, a mile away. They rerouted the package. It was flown to Tampa where they placed the correct address on it then drove it to Orlando for sorting. Then they drove it back to my town where they finally got it to me. It took a while alright.

I went back into every account and checked the shipping address. They were all right. The guy shipped the package to the address that paypal gave him. My accounts in paypal do not have my old address. So who knows?

Coincidentally, I recieved a package today from Emerson. Very quick delivery too. No problems with that old address. I really don't know how it happened.
