Love the book too! Rainbow Six is one of my favorite Clancys. It's also one of my favorite video game series. Vegas 2 is THE perfect shooter, in my opinion. (Yes better than COD and Halo which I thoroughly enjoy)

Carrying my 10 today and actually about half way through Patriot Games. I'll edit a picture in later.

That folder grew on me.
btw, I just got my Jungle Commander. I might have found a new Emerson EDC.

Super CQC-7 my Brother got for my Birthday a few years ago. It was a replacement for my Benchmade 970ST I sold back in 1998.
 
I bought my First, and so far only, Emerson about 4 months ago. I bought it because of the raving reviews of Emerson knives, their reputation for being rugged and reliable, and for the looks... In my opinion the CQC-13 is one of the sexiest folding knives in existence. However, the first one I bought had a very stiff and sticky lock, it would get jammed open with normal opening pressure (no wrist flick or wave, just using the thumb disc). I called the place I ordered from (not sure if I can/should put their name) and told them about the issue and asking if I can get a replacement and if they could inspect the new knife before shipping it out. I got told that a replacement would be a waste of time because ALL Emerson's have stiff locks that often get stuck... :eek: I told him that I really love the design of the knife and insisted on a replacement, he told me he would replace the knife but would not inspect the knife before sending it, he said that they can't open any knives before shipping them off - not even at customer's request. o_O I ended up calling a different place that I had ordered from before (they didn't have the 13 in stock the first time I ordered) and told them what was going on and the lady on the phone shipped the knife out and INSPECTED it personally before ending her shift, which was technically over just minutes after getting off the phone. I sent the defective knife for a refund, and when I got my second one, it was much smoother and the lock was much better. It still got stuck, but only if using the wave feature with a bit of force. I looked up a youtube vid how to fix a sticky lock and it actually worked, which I had tried on the first knife with no success. I just cleaned the contact areas very well to make sure there was no oil or anything, and added graphite and its perfect now.

I just thought I would share my experience, after talking to the company that I ordered my first 13 from I didn't want to give Emerson's another chance... but I figured the guy was just having a rough day or something and I loved the design enough to roll the dice twice. I do wish that Emerson would make a ZT collaboration of the 13 though, it would be an AMAZING hard use folder! M390 steel, Carbon Fiber, new handle design, nice standoffs, framelock, lockbar disc thing, and steel lockbar insert... MMM MMM MMMM. Take My Money!!! :D My only gripe with it is the handle, I can fit about 3 and 1/2 fingers... :D I would love to see a CQC-13 ZT Collab with the new ZT 0620 style handle, or even better a 0562 style handle, but I'm not sure how Mr. Hinderer would feel about that.

Anyways, I've been EDCing this baby since the day I received her, and I LOVE her! I might have to find someone who can modify the handles though...

I was hoping this thread got more popular. Pics are always fun. Sadly though, none from today for me. I did carry the 8 again, I did tons of work around the house and yard, but stayed so busy I forgot honestly.

Man, we're a non-sleeping bunch down here.
 
Well, It's been this one since I got it. I haven't done anything to this knife. By that I mean I didn't take it apart and clean it and what not. I just haven't had to. It's broke in pretty well. You guys are no strangers to this knife but I did want to get it in the Emerson EDC thread.
