S.T.R., to answer your thumbdisc question. I chose to remove/grind away the back/right side of the thumbdisc to help facilitate the use of the wave. With the disc "gone", there is nothing to impede the seam of my pocket from fully being hooked by the wave when drawing from pocket. I have had the thumbdisc snag the seam of my pocket only to have a half opened knife. I also am right handed so there is rarely any left hand knife use so the sharps stay as a right hand access situation. The Emerson models that have a thumbhole are easier to wave open compared to those that have the thumbdisc.

I have noticed that my best waving Emerson is my CQC-10, the one with out the thumbdisk. I must admit though that I do like Pete Gray's Monster Thumbdisks. I have one on my Persian and it does act like a wave, but you have to twist is as you withdraw it from the pocket.

I LOVE my CQC 7 Karambit! I carry that thing daily and lately I've been trying so hard to carry some of my other lovely knives but I always end up taking my cqc7 kbit again lol. I'd post a picture but they're on my phone and my phone is out of data otherwise I'd be using the Tapatalk.
