Can anybody explain me how Emerson Knives website online store is working? I mean their official website.

I have placed an order for Police Utility Knife last week, entered my billing address and shipping information as well as credit card details and that's all - complete silence since then. They sent me an order confirmation email and my order is being listed as "Pending" on their website. The credit card was not charged.

Has anybody had any luck with direct knives purchases from them? I have checked other major online stores too - all Emerson knives are out of stock. Is it impossible to buy them? What is the matter here?

If you have any doubts, give Mary a call. The 'pending' usually disappears when the item ships, at least that has been my experience.

Well, I emailed them to inquire about the status of my order but got no reply. In general I don't understand how their online store is working - do they really ship knives overseas, to Northern Europe in my case? Because everything is very strange - they take credit card data without three back CVV control numbers and say that they will charge the card as soon as the knife is shipped. How are they going to charge my MasterCard without those back control numbers? I don't understand that.

And is PUK that rare that it is always out of stock?

Here is what their website order look up showing me (billing and shipping info I have deleted myself in screenshot):

Phone calls really are worth the two minutes to get things understood between both parties. I would guess that they are waiting on their stock to be refilled (Emerson knives are made in small batches, which is why they have limited availability FYI) Emails are great after you've actually talked with them.

10 minute overseas call results in 1/3rd of the knife price due to insane tariffs of local mobile operators. And I don't understand the purpose of such calling - to verify that I am that person who placed an order? I can send them a scanned copy of my passport and the photo of the credit card itself for verification, but they keep on that deaf and mute conversation so I actually don't know what they want to. Is it actually that difficult to write a couple of words via email regarding the order?

In general the process of ordering those Emerson knives is comparable to ordering luxury houses, cars etc. It is the same difficult even if you have money.

I understand if I was trying to buy a collectible Emerson Kandahar or something like that but having such difficulties with PUK knife then I don't know...

maybe that blade is back ordered.... call and asked. I called the other day with a question and the lady who answered was very friendly and helpful

It wouldn't be to call to verify your identity, it would be a call to just expedite communication is all. One phone call is usually able to get more back and forth questions/answers than 6 emails, and you're more likely to get an immediate answer rather than waiting for a reply. For your situation though it might be best to just email and wait. Its the weekend now and hopefully you'll hear something on Monday.

I have just sent them another inquiry about my order. Same auto-reply that their email is overcrowded and they will respond in 48 hours. I am starting having doubts that their online store is working at all. Checked New Graham and Knifeworks - almost all Emersons are flashy red "Out of stock". Very strange.

The purpose of a phone call is to speak with a human being and ask directly about what is happening with your order. Instead of playing email tag back and forth or hoping that someone will reply. Emails can be put off or even ignored, someone on the phone with you cannot be.
It's not that it is difficult, it's just that a phone call is much better.
