Emerson on Emails

Chipdouglas, I have never had a problem with getting any knife through Canadian customs (and I have a lot of knives). Sending the knife in will not be a problem for you. You bought the knifes from a Canadian dealer right? I have gotten all my Emerson's from Jay as well. Jay never has any trouble getting these knifes across the border and he gets them by the hundreds. The reason there is no problem getting them across the border is because the knives are not illegal. If you really don't want to send it in than you have a real problem and the only solution is to buy another one.

I realize I should've long answered this - I do have a problem and said problem isn't so much that I need to send my knife across the border to EKI so much as it is that it is expected for most Emerson knives to need factory based maintenance sometime - I no longer have any EKI's, though I do miss the wave feature. I prefer to buy knives which won't require sending them back to the factory for maintenance - Spyderco is one.

I performed an unrelated search and came across this thread which I'm still subscribed to, but whose subscription I'll remove as soon as I'm done writing this.

I have a umnumzaan that came new in box but was dull as hell. After reading about how most of them come with a convex edge, which I hate, and most have an angle that significantly changes across the length of the blade, I vowed to never buy another crk until they fix this problem. $425 for a folder and that shit should come sharp. I voiced my opinion once or twice on thier forum and let it go. For some reason I cant stand to have a knife sent in, I deal with it and usually dont buy another of that brand. Luckily, my emerson is treating me right and came sharp as hell.

I have to say that I e-mailed Emerson yesterday and got a response within 20 min.
You Americans really do know the meaning of customer service.
Cheers
