For those that didn't see it, here's a pic of the new flipper from EKI. From what I've gathered the name is the Sheepdog, but ER can correct me if I'm wrong. Word on the street is that this will be a full production model and not a limited run.

Flipper a side I like the blade shape and the handle a lot. Any idea of the overall length?

Nice. HD7ish handle with a 13ish blade.

Curious about the action on these. Will they have the nylatron washers and the normal snug action? I couldn't see any of the models I currently have flipping well if they had a flipper.

I don't know why I am worried about it, it wouldn't be coming out if it didn't work!

That looks like a winner. Could be phase 2 to market Emerson designs to the masses. Who doesn't like a flipper? I will be getting one. Clip point, liner lock, Emerson and flipper. Definite winner in my book!

It will be interesting to see how the action is on that one. As mentioned, it could not be as stiff as usual or the flipper would not work...

A new era for Emerson design? The Christmas 2013 Camo Journeyman I have has an action that would certainly work with a flipper, it is that smooth. We thought Ernest himself made it, and that story is to come.

Perhaps it is single detent like the vindicator (which I still want to acquire). Even my 2014 Patriot is super smooth and flies open with thumb pressure. It would have no problem being a flipper. The same with my 2014 cqc 13. My not so new models are not as quick. Still smooth and sturdy and wave with zero problem, but not as quick as current year models.

My Zealot likes to flip open easily with out much effort. This could be interesting.

I really like it. It makes me think of the CQC-45 with the handguard/thumbramp of thr Tiger/CQC-13. My guess would be a Nylatron washers with a single detent. Mr. E did flip it open with minimal wrist action in the video. Limited or production, I'm still goin to get a couple.

I would prefer the grip shape of an A-100 or a Six/Five for a flipper, since the "flipper" acts as a finger guard itself. I've long wanted a flipper and wave in the same knife though. Frankly, a waved 7 with a flipper would be epic.

I'd like to see some different handle materials on this one. Maybe polished g10 or micarta. Something to liven it up a bit.

I too am curious about the pivot action. I love it though. Emerson always finds a way to take more of my money! Lol

So confused....Why a flipper on a knife that opens while it is drawn from the pocket?
