Emerson SOCFK

The SOCFK was my first Emerson and is one of my favorites. As one new owner recently described it, in my opinion, it surely is "the sleeper of the Emerson line." I liked it so much I a got second just to make sure I always had one available. Both are the plain edge, "B" variant.

I've EDC'ed it for the last couple of months, its a rock solid knife that is easily maintained at razor sharp and has no blade play. The only complaint I have is that the G-10 scales are so grippy/abrasive that they pretty well chewed up the RFP of several of my Wranglers. Not only is the lip of the pocket all in tatters but, above the pocket, the butt end of the scale has actually worn holes in the denim. Fortunately, they were work pants so it's no big deal. I finally got tired of it and smoothed the contact areas on the scale with some emery cloth. I think I pretty well got it licked now.

Money's a bit tight for me right now but once things loosen up, I'm really tempted to snag a plain edge spear point. They looking interesting.

Well, shoot. You just had to go and post pictures of your "A" didn't you.

Here I am struggling mightily to control my Emerson spending and along come these two more nails in my fudiciary coffin. What can I say, it must be fate.

Now where did that little piece of rectangular plastic go.....:D

Like they say....you never see luggage racks on a hearse....go for it Poco.....:thumbup::D:D

SO I just received my SOCFK.

WOW, my third Emerson. And just WOW, this thing is absolutely beautiful. First impression is how much lighter it is than my CQC-7, even though the handle is longer. Does this mean both liners are Ti? Anyone? The Fit and finish is great. They did a good job making the jimping align in the blade, liner, and G-10. And I don't even need to say this, and I didn't test for it until ~an hour after I opened the box- this blade has no play what so ever- it's an Emerson...

The handle is contoured to give you almost a hilt. The black blade is so well done and the lettering are so crip and professional. Like all Emersons, year and serial number gives it uniqueness. All this for $125 shipped! and I got a free Gatco Tri-Ceps sharpener.

And I love that electronics/90s VCR player smell of the G10!

Extreme Outfitters is sole exclusive dealer that sells SOCFK. My blade is dated 2008 so my guess would be they have long stop producing these babies, and once they are gon from EO, they are gone! Intel right now: In stock serrated spearpoint and Tano point. Plain only in Tanto.

I've had mine for about a year now and have had no complaints. I really like how it feels in the hand. I'm a maker but haven't dabbled into the folders but, I do however, feel that Ernie Emerson has figured out the right way of making a very well made pocket knife for a decent price. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine! This dude is a cutter for sure...a couple swipes on the sharpener now and then and it stays hair splitting sharp.

I was just looking through some older knives that Emerson used to make and came across this SOCFK. I had never seen this knife before and to me, it's just beautiful. I like my cqc7 but Wolfjohn, if you ever want to sell it -- please PM me!!

So, I obviously bumped it since I had missed this thread the first time around and wanted to share this beauty. Since it's a special ops folder, is that a specwar handle? Anyway, simply outstanding.

I just snagged a green G10 SOCFK with black serrated tanto blade. Its dated 2000. Its a beauty and yes, the ergonomics of this knife are superb!

Are my only chances of snagging one of these by finding a used or preowned for sale? They not still made right?

I just acquired a plain edge SOCFK-B

WOW. This is Emerson perfection...ergonomics are amazing. Balance isperfect. Carries well in pocket. Simply awesome.

Just FYI, I heard on Emerson's facebook page that they will start doing the SOFCK again.
I saw that posting too and can't wait! I recall a Youtube vid where a guy had one from around 2001 and I think it was a drop point, not the usual tanto blade.
