Emerson SOCFK

I'd be up for a Satin P/E SOCFK-A. It'd replace the CQC-11 stolen from me.

Saw a used black SOCFK-A go for 200$ on egay. Nuts - it was quite worn and missing a screw.

I saw the same one and they previous owner had also drilled into the G10 on the opposite site, voiding the warranty I believe.

I bought a user/abuser on here for $95, probably destined for A spa treatment.

My Super SOCFK is one of my favorite knives, a true chisel grind, very sharp. For such a large knife, it carries really well in the pocket.

Nice. Some day I'll probably score one that way, but I'll hold out for a new run as long as I can. Especially one in satin, don't really care much for black blades.

I just got a 2013 SOCFK and I'm tempted to sell the CQC7. This knife fits my hand so much better than the 7.

Hopefully my BT model will be delivered tomorrow. Will be my 1st Emerson, really excited ^^

Thanks for the vote of buyer confidence. Emerson seems to have a mixed bag reputation, and seems to polerize ppls opinions. I got annoyed at trying to research them, and figured that I should just buy one and see for myself, can't knock'em if I don't try'em right?

right on. I can tell you from some recent experiences they have outstanding customer service as well. Good people there that I've dealt with.

I won't start a crap storm here with opinions. Its just one of those things - you either love 'em or you don't. Me? I love 'em. I have a dozen Emersons in different variations and they're my favorite by far.

It came in today!! So, quick 1st impressions of my new SOCFK-BT.

Came just as I expected based on the research I did. No QC complaints to be made, some of the stories make it out to be some kinda horror show. Nice and sharp out of the box, maybe not crazy sharp, but more than sufficient for me. I might do a little touch up on the sharpmaker if need be. G10 is crazy grippy, I have smoothed it out a little with some 108 sand paper. Pivot was tight and moderately gritty, have broken down the knife, wiped everything clean with a microfiber cloth, CRK greased and re-assembled with no problems. Much smoother now, still feels a little um...grindy?...I expect it just needs break-in time. Very slight side to side blade play, no real concern there, contemplating blue Loctite. Lock up is very, very early doesn't seem like it is weak tho so I think I'll just leave it be for now. Lock sticks slightly may use some graphite it it proves to annoying. Jimping on the lock bar is very aggressive, a minor (and expected) con.

Overall I am very pleased with it, I think it just needs some using to take out the kinks (the horror I HAVE to use my knife! lol).
