How the heck does a guy score a tiger? I just picked up my first Emerson cqc-10. Should have it by Thursday. But the one Emerson that really turns me on is the Tiger. But not made anymore and don't see them come for sale very often. Any suggestions where I might look to grab one?
 
Join the Usual Suspects Network forum and watch the classifieds (The Cove) there. There is a lot more Emerson activity there. Been about 10 listed and sold in The Cove since May 2017 - I just ran a quick search.

Hi thanks my friend it is a real beauty. Although this makes me want one even worse haha. I truthfully don't get turned on by a lot of Emerson's designs. But when I saw a picture of this one I fell in love. Of course it would be just like me to fall in love with a discontinued knife. I had a chance to grab one a couple months ago but unfortunately I did not have the cash at the time. So the Relentless search continues.
 
They could have another run of them you never know .
But if you love the looks wait to you get one in hand ! The balance and feel is simply amazing .

There is one for sale on the Emerson operators Facebook. I'm not a member but someone just told me about it. They haven't accepted my request from 3 days ago. Just my luck haha. But at least there are some for sale.

Yes there out there you just have to constantly be on the look out since they normally don’t last long .
 
I find alot of Enersons knives look similar to one another in design. Just switching which blade goes into which hande.

Want a Tiger sooooo badly?

Take the handle of a cqc13 and put a cqc8 blade on it.

Yes, as I said they look similar, but not exactly.

M mbkingshane Lol no, I highly doubt you could take the blades off one Emerson and fit them on another. Even if it did work it would be a total fluke. Like cigarrodog pointed out; take a look at how low the edge is on the open knife compared to the handle.

On the cqc8 it runs from about just below the middle of the handle. On the Tiger the edge is inline with the bottom of the front finger guard.

All I was saying is that it can SEEM like Ernie Emerson picks a random blade to match with a random handle from a pile of each. Then slaps them together and voilà! New Emerson!

In truth though even among handles that look very similar sometimes there are differences if we look carefully. That said the Emerson Iron Dragon is my dream standard sized Emerson. I would love any Emerson framelock. (Probably would kill for an HD7, one of my most desired knives.)
