I just got my Emerson knife. Amid all this contoversy I've got to sya, it was worth the wait. Yeah I ordered about 3 1/2 - 4 years ago. I was never pissed off, but I was concerned. The fit and finish is superb. I own several other "tactical" customs; from well known makers and honestly, this knife beats them hands down. When I got the call from Emerson that the knife was ready I was surprised / shocked and now I am very pleased. Say what you want guys, I ordered another knife and I'm prepared to wait.

Peaceman,

Is it like Peace Man?

That was your first post and you don't have an e-mail address?

You have me curious?

Anyway, Peace Man.

Dave

I just want to add my 2 cents to this frenzy of Emerson bashing. I am a 17 year veteran of a major Southern California Police Department. I have known Mr. Emerson for the last 7 years. I first attended one of his edged weapons classes several years ago and over time have gotten to know him as a friend. The man is #1, a gentleman, and one of the most respected individuals I have ever been associated with.

I read what he had written to this forum to explain to you about his situation. Let me tell you what he would not say.

Since I have known him I have seen him sever his thumb, break ribs on both sides of his body, have both shoulders operated on and go through reconstructive surgery on his left knee. All of these injuries have occurred within the last 5 years. I'm certain this has a bit to do with some knive being late. Yet never once have I heard him complain about these misfortunes or ever use them as an excuse.

Ernie, despite these adversities has managed to start up his new production company, donate his time and expertise at no charge to many Law Enforcement seminars, rape prevention and personal safety classes for women and children's classes around the Southern California area.

Yeah, he may be late delivering some knives but things are getting pretty nasty about a guy who has saved a lot of Police Officers lives through the use of his knives and his teachings.

I know Ernest as a friend and, given the chance would have him as my partner anytime, anyplace. I know for a fact that he would go down fighting to protect the six of a friend. Give the guy a break.

actually, I didn't catch what you were saying the first 2 times so for the developmentally impaired such as myself, can you repeat that last post a few more times? you can keep your opinions of les to yourself, just as les should keep anything beyond a sharing of pertinent info useful to members to himself.

I think most of us can form our own opinion of Mr. Emerson irrespective of Les' opinions.

Whoever you are you will notice I rectified an already existing situation which actually from teh outside should appease you. Please stop posting the above post everytime you see Emersons name mentioned. I amalso a friend of Ernie and had to make a radical decision yesterday. Your post is out of line in this thread. I let it stand in the thread where it belongs but it is un called for here.

Peace Man and lIllIl0l0is are both phonies --no email address, first or second posts on this forum. Trolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is something shady going on here. Don't you think peace man would state his invoice and mention immediately which knife he got?

Anyway, Emerson mentioned that he would deliver 50 CQC6's in the next month. His review is also generic and very vague.

Les, I do apologise for attacking you personally. It was my first log on to this site and your attacks on Ernie, I felt were unwarranted. When someone attacks a friend, my first reaction is to attack back. Again, my appologies.

As to why I posted twice, I saw a new forum and the old one had been locked down. Just wanted to make sure everyone heard what I wanted to say.

As for no e-mail address. I learned along time ago that to give out your address on an open forum like this is just asking for diaster. Anything that needs to be said can be said here.

Anyway, sorry again Les. But I still love my Emersons. I'd wait 10 years for them.

Hey you with all the 1Ilo0s and stuff,
(my eyes don't need the strain of acctually trying to READ the name, mind if I just call you 01?
If you have a problem with net security, I'd like to suggest a Hotmail account. It's totally anonymous, you don't even have to give hotmail your real email address!
I have to say though, that if you read my profile, all you need is to take that info and call information. (1-501-555-1212) and you can get my home phone number and home address.
I wouldn't do this in other places, but here, I have absolutely no problem with it and anybody on this forum who wishes to contact me in any way is more than welcome to do so.
You won't find a better bunch of guys and gals, (Didn't forget you Djo and Kysa!) anywhere on the net.

Thanks for running a taut ship Mike and Spark!

i0i0i0i0i, as a personal favor, would you consider changing your handle? It hurts my eyes just looking at it!
if those are your initials, I'm sorry, and sorry for you!

Welcome to the forum.

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!

I personally welcome posts from those who have received orders from Emerson. I have a friend who has a cqc6 and a cqc8, he is isn't on the net but loves anything Ernie makes. My point for this discussion is that I was on recdotknives for a long time, then knifeforums from the start and now here from he start. I have always used my real name and email address and I have never had a problem.

I've always thought that a man's name was only as good as his word, and if he wasn't willing to put his name and reputation behind his words, well, his words really aren't worth much.

Hiding behind an alias and an bogus email address makes it pretty easy to say whatever you want without any fear of ever having to own up to those words, eh? Usually the work of cowards.

Lots of people on the forums use an alias in their postings, but I've never come across someone that tries to hide from his words.

Betcha go on AOL with a name like "AsianGal4Luv".

Of course that's just my opinion. Maybe he is a secret agent for the government, right? Yea, right.

Watch it, Doug. You are coming close to personal attacks here, so do us all a favor and take a few moments to calm down.

Whoa! You guys are ruthless! After seeing how hard and fast you attack, I'm more glad now than ever I withheld my address.

Anyway, Imp...invoice #233; and JP, you flatter me, I only wish I were that sophisticated.

By the way, just in case anybody cares about knives anymore, I picked up a Specwar and Commander while at Emerson's to pick up my CQC8. They are the best production folders I've seen. For you who like a large blade folder, the Commander is superb....rivals the CQC8.

Con Dios, Gentlemen

Sorry for the lashing out guys, I was a little bitter after the Les ordeal, he was a great source of custom info for us all.

New day, better attitude.

--Doug

I like doing business with Les. I love Emerson production folders. What I can`t stand is all this trashing and bickering. This is not Jerry Springer! There are too many exiting things going on in the knife community right now to let this trashing be a focal point.Put your daggers away so we can talk knives.
