EMERSON

I read any post from a "member" with less than 5 posts listed and no e-mail address the way I read those nice letters I get from Ed McMahon! If anyone is concerned about giving out a home e-mail address (which is a valid concern) then use a webmail address such as hotmail or eudoramail.

Doug may have been a little harsh earlier but at least he uses his name and has an e-mail address. I'll be glad when this is finished and over with! Good riddance to this controversy.

Well, I have stayed out of the Emerson debate, as I just really don't care one way or another. If the customer is willing to wait for an indefinite delivery date, so be it.

On the positive side though, Emerson Knives fedexed me a Commander before going overseas. This was before they had been released to dealer, even CFKT didn't have any.

Anyway, they made sure I got my knife before I left. Ernie has made a commitment to the military/LEO community, and I don't think that he should take any flak for it, as it is clearly his decision to do so. Hmm, that Commander was just as smooth and solid as any of his customs that I have ever handled.

I never realized there was a minimum number of posts before one was allowed to have an opinion.Exactly when is it that people with ample knife experience and short on-line experience get consideration? By the way,I have been able to recognize bull excrement for years!

Exactly right, David. I could care less how many posts you have under your belt, if you are wrong, or right for that matter, it's what you say that gives you credibility.

There are many lurkers here who have forgotten more knife knowledge than I'll ever know, yet I have more postings than just about anyone on these forums. So don't dismiss someone just because they keep their mouth shut unless they have something significant to say.

davidb415,

Any minimal poster with knife knowledge/opinions to share is welcome here. Part of the reason I come here is to see the diverse opinions. I lurked for awhile before I started to post. Please continue posting, but you might want to check out some of the friendlier threads! This one has been/is a little rougher than most.

Jason,

As soon as you register you're a member. Not sure what the question was?

Peace. Let's talk knives.

Although I have never purchased directly from the custom shop, I have always received speedy and friendly service from Emerson on custom work that needed touch up or sharpening.
