Emotional Support Chat: Waiting for your knife

My first Busse - satin NMSFNO with blue black G10! As I previously said, I ordered from the Custom Shop on May 14, and I got it today. Now I'm gonna find something to chop . . .

I don't know yet, but, though i love my CGFBM, i think the TGLB might end up my fav.

Describe the joy! Fit? Feel? Zombiekillability?

Make me ache for that particular shipping notice even more ;)

I received my .27 FBM today from the custom Shop today! Thanks Garth, Beef(It is sharp!!!), Lexi, Naomi, and everyone else!
Crappy Cell pics don't do it justice:

GAH!!! all you people getting your knives

That's a beautiful FBM sir. I love those things. I think it's going to be my next Busse. Maybe i'll piggyback it on my gladius if i ever actually get one :)

Thanks! Wow, if I tried to piggyback a gladius and an FBM my pants would get pulled down by the weight!

First I have to say, I LOVE my TGLB. Easily my favorite knife in my puny collection and probably my favorite knife I've ever owned to date. This knife just exudes quality. It's hefty but not clunky. I'll admit I love heavy knives and was a tad concerned the TGLB would feel too light but it is a hefty hunk of INFI (it actually feels a smidge heavier than my CS Trailmaster in SK5) and is perfect weight for me (I still would love to get my hands on an original TG though). I was also a tad concerned about the blade being hollow ground but again my worries were unfounded. While the edge may be thinner than on other Busse's with convex grinds, their is still plenty of INFI behind it and I cannot see the edge of the TGLB breaking any easier than a convex one. Tbh I think if you did by some freak chance manage to find a away to damage the edge of the TGLB, a convex edge probably wouldn't fair much better and it would take ALOT of abuse to do so.

It along with my Martindale Bolo machete are definitely my zombie killers.

If I had one minor nitpick it would be that the black canvas scales are a little darker than I would have preferred. I love the tan-ish/olive drab color of the "black" canvas micarta scales that are shown on the Busse site but the scales on mine are kind of a greyish drab color. Again though this is just a minor nitpick and does not take away from the knife at all. If I had only one other complaint, it is that I now cannot decide whether I want to try and get another TGLB or an NMSFNO from the custom shop (assuming Garth still has some blanks left by the time I have money for one).

I wasn't able to get any pics cause I don't have a camera and I usually borrow a friend's but he was busy today. Hope fully I'll be able to get some tomorrow.

Sharp, great description! My fix for the day whilst waiting for my tracking number.

I was surprised to hear about the weight, not that it's bad. But i think i remember reading, a full 1/3 lb lighter than the original... so maybe 14 oz or so? That's good, i'm getting old, will be easier to lift ;)

Was yours coated, or did you go CF?

The TGLB weighs about 15 to 17 oz from what others who have weighed them say (ones with G10 I believe weigh about an oz or 2 more than those with micarta). Like I said, it's funny my Trailmaster is said to weigh about 16oz according to CS' site but my TGLB feels a smidge heavier (which I like) but still lively.

Mine is coated (tanker grey with black canvas scales). I was sooo tempted to change my order to a Comp finish after seeing a few with it but decided against it since I also love the look of a knife when the finish starts to wear off from use plus I think if I had changed it, my order would have been pushed back which would have ment more waiting. Besides I can always try to remove the finish myself or send it in to the shop and have it removed down the road if I decide too.
