And I'm the other guy OP mentioned in his post. I tried trading my ZT 801 ti with custom hardware in exchange for ssmith571's slysz Bowie. The Bowie was going to be a gift for my dad for Christmas because it's my favorite knife, he recently had a debilitating stroke so even if it wasn't much it was sentimental. Upon talking to the guy he shared he was prior service and shared with me where he was stationed. Me being active duty stationed at Hunter Army Airfield I felt comfortable trading on good faith with him. I went out of my way to ship it with signature confirmation as well and everything. Today what came in the mail was an empty envelope. I'm extremely disheartened not that I lost my money and my knife but that I couldn't get my dad what I was planning on getting him. I urge everyone who reads this to be cautious and not follow the path I took. I feel at a loss for what to do. I have all of his contact information and will be filing a mail fraud claim with usps. Beyond that i just want everyone to be carful out there.

Hey Mathew where did your deal take place? You only have 4 posts here and they are all in this thread you are also a very very new member. Just asking because if it’s happening somewhere else I’m sure people would like to know. Really sorry to see this happen to anyone. Also so you know these kind of dealings don’t happen a lot here there are so many great members here so don’t let this turn you away. Smith will get his karma is a bitch.

I'm extremely new haha. However I've been an incredible longtime lurker on these forums. It wasn't until I was scammed that I decided register and post so that people could be made aware. While I was lurking for someone selling or trading a Slysz Bowie I saw his post offering to trade his with someone selling a ZT model. The OP of that thread declined his offer. However I saw that he posted his contact information on his profile. So I contacted him directly via text. We shared several texts back and forth including our military service background and he gained my trust as a result. We both sent packages however when I spoke with usps they said he shipped it with the entire package weighing .3 ounces. So obviously he had no intention of sending me the knife. Through my example I hope others will be more carful. It's a shame that my first ever trade ended up like this especially considering what was at stake emotionally for me. I guess we learn.

Oh no sir I didn't take it that way at all! I apologize if my comment caused you to think that I was upset. I was just giving you more details. Like you said all I want to do is help the next guy who might fall into this type of trap. :)

Sorry bud I was just trying to see why you didn't post a negative feedback . I was in no way blaming you for what happened . Not your fault I apologize if I came across as blaming you for what happened
No problem. I just never had to deal with being scammed. I was a bit lost on what to do. This forum is such a good place to buy and sell that this crap doesn’t come up often, it seems

Man, I am sorry to hear that. I don’t know why some people have to be like this and scam others.

smith571 Has refunded me $100 he also said that he sent back all the other knives .
I hope he does but am doubtful. With all this evidence paypal would have decided in your favor in the dispute. I've been through several paypal disputes . I've been ripped off several times on other sites . Always file right away, usually the con man will try to delay. If i were the other two guys I would exchange contact info for the postal service. I would definitely file a claim for fraud.

I believe my issue with Ssmith has been resolved. So I'm locking this thread . I hate to do this but I have decided that I'm better of forgetting what happened rather than keep getting notifications about this thread .

For the other two guys I hope everything goes well . I'll keep watching the other thread hopefully he does what he told me he will do . Return them .

Thanks
