You guys know the drill:) You see it once a week in every other part of the forum. Someone posts a picture of what they are carrying today, other people do the same, and with some luck it doesn't turn into a snarky brand/steel snob/gun philosophy chest-thumping showdown:p

Being that this is the Cantina, I think this might be a little fun. Not only are we pretty much populated exclusively by stand up guys and gals...but we might have the reputation of overkill and our "little" knives tend to be in the 12" range;)

So, let's see 'em. Your blades, your guns, your widgets, gizmos, and doohickeys that help you survive in the modern world.

Sorry about the terrible photo quality. My new phone is designed to be substantial as to not be damaged easily...the camera is lacking to say the least.

Here's mine:) For whatever reason, I thought I might need to bring my Spear Vala with me today. It's big, it's heavy, but I like the way it hangs on my belt and I like the confidence it brings when in hand;) When in doubt, a 2lb Smatchet will solve most problems.

I'm cheating a bit with the guns as I'm not big on using the old New York reload, especially when it comes to guns as heavy as the SP101 and full size 1911. I generally carry either/or in the winter months, a Glock 26 in the spring, and usually just an LCP in my pocket during the summer when I'm wearing tucked in polos every day. I just felt the need to show of the incredible grips that one our kind forumites sent me to try out in my carry guns. I never like to single guys out, but I hope he chimes in. The work is impeccable. I'll give you a hint, he's known for favoring the 1911 and I will always shamelessly covet the birdhead grip he has on his single action;)

The 1911 is a stainless Springfield Loaded A1 with target sites. I upgraded to this gun at the end of last month after really enjoying the platform but not getting the performance out of more budget based 1911s. I had some stuff to trade in, a gift card that my dad gave me for Christmas, and a friendly relationship with the shop owner, so I felt like I got a good deal on the Springer. It started out with lovely walnut colored slim grips, but after a slight modification to accept the ambi safety these gorgeous honey colored beauties were installed. They really customize the gun and make the grip more hand-filling. I would prefer combat sights on it, but this is what they had in stock, and I can have some new ones installed it down the road. The adjustable sights aren't bad. The IWB holster I use rides up against my sides so the sharp corners of the rear sight never dig into my ribs or anything.

The SP101 just looks incredible sporting those deep wood grips. For a gun that is known to be primarily all-business, a little bit of dressing up really gives the revolver a pop of sophistication when you swap out those boring black plastic ones. My wife and daughter and I like to walk to the downtown river front in our little town on the weekends. Carrying a heavy full size 1911 in my waistband gets tiring going up and down the hills over the one mile walk pulling a wagon weighed down by my 45lb 3 year old. I usually OWB the SP101. Besides, this little town is nice. When I walk the river DOWNTOWN a couple miles west of here, I carry a little more than a 5 shot snubbie;)

To round out my kit: My heavily used and relied upon Leatherman Skeletool CX that I carry off-season when I probably won't need a full size tool and my new Leatherman Piranha that my wife got me for Christmas. It's the only tool that will pass inspection when I go downtown to pull building permits (nothing with an edge allowed, but if it's kosher for a air travel it can go through). Finally, I have simply fallen in love with that little KLVUK KK. It's been in my pocket every day. It's cut packages, string, food, boxes, etc. The thing finish has worn off on the handle. One of my projects for the day is to give it a quick sanding and hit with a little wood stain and sealant. I found a slim little leather pocket sheath I made for another karda that fits it, so it's even handier to carry day to day.

So there you have it, 6 or so lbs of STUFF not including the two full 1911 mags on my hip that I forgot to take off to put in the pic (the loose ammo was just some stuff I had rolling around in a jacket pocket from my last trip to the range).

What all are y'all toting around with you?

This has been my usual attire for the last 3 years or so. Much similar prior to that just different players. The only change is I have a few more knives to draw from. Pugs made me a much nicer sheath for the knife in the photo, cheap knife but I like it. Sometimes my Mini AK Bowie takes it's place, I have a no name damascus blade with stag grips I like a lot too. The future Micro Mini AK should fit very nicely and I'm sure will see a lot of belt time.

The 1911 I have to take off during the work day due to a PC worry wart sheep deputy chief, everything else stays in place.
That's a pretty picture Steely. That Speer Vala is sweet.

The knife is a spanish Navaja, but I switch it up with other knives from time to time. On the keychain there's...

Olight i3s flashlight
tritium glowfob
pocket widgey
Uncle Bill's tweezers
USB stick
Leatherman squirt
Titanium bottle opener
Inka folding pen
Pocket clip
Peanut lighter
Screwdrivers

I used to have one of those Pirhanas, but it wasn't very good at anything I used it for. The plier part and screwdriver won't work in tight spaces, and I found the edge too thick to use as a prybar. It was a good bottle opener and box opener, but that's about it. It felt uncomfortable in my pocket too.

I agree, this should be good.

One plus if there's a plus to a wheelchair is all the stuff you can pack. I have two Surefire flashlights, a full size multi tip screwdriver with one of those extended car antenna magnets, a leatherman tool, knife sharpener. My Mini AK Bowie is in a little front pack when it's not on my belt. I sometimes think I'm a Snap On roll away tool box.

Not sure what the benefit of a Titanium light weight chair is when you pack 50 pounds of crap and myself in it. Course I guess the lighter the truck the more you can haul.

This reminds me of the mechanic in the tank-like wheelchair in the fourth "Alien" movie: "Alien Resurrection." There's a fun scene where one of the monsters is approaching him slowly, dripping drool over what it assumes will be easy prey, while he is reassembling one of his guns as fast as he can.

He wasn't supposed to be carrying guns on board a spaceship, so he had the components fitted into the chair. Sounds a bit like your stationhouse situation.

Hey, if ya got it, use it:D I'd be the same way.

Our late forum friend Yvsa had one of those Rollator walkers. I believe there were several times where we joked about how he could weaponize it:D

Excellent posts guys:) Loving to see what y'all are carrying.

I can't post any pictures, don't know how, but I'm in SSF, CA, so carrying anything, especially firearms, are uh....kind of frowned upon.

I edc carry in my front left pocket a CS Counter Point 2, front right pocket a Spyderco Delica ZDP-189, horizontal belt case a 12cm Palacio custom Balisong (Kamagong wood handle inserts, brass fittings, 5160 spring steel), HI KK 7.5" in my jacket inner pocket, and then usually a concealed Walther PPK, when needed.

It seems all the places a person would need a gun the most are the places your not suppose to have one. Remember only respect laws that make sense. Not many gun laws make sense so I ignore them.

Bawanna does speak the truth. I only ignore the law when I feel there may be a need to protect my family.

But you can't protect your family if you obey the law. You wait to be sheered like the nekkid sheep they want you to be.

I'm a sheepdog, not a sheep.

Knives I keep on me EDC at all times, my firearms, most of the time, but not all the time. I grew up on the wrong side of town, so I'm pretty much prepared for anything the urban life can throw at me, you know?

Whenever it comes to carrying something I'm not supposed to, I ask myself which is more likely: that I'll need to use it to defend myself, or that I'll have to explain to a cop why I'm carrying it. They seem to think the only people who carry weapons are people who are out there looking for any excuse to use it.

will post picture when i can find download cord!
1 sigsauer p220 with 7 rounds, in back waistband
1 r-10 by kami murali on belt
1 kages katne given to me by karda
1 multi-tool "mountain quest" brand lol
1 gerber folding knife
x2 wallets one for paper work and notes the other for debt
x1 set of keys for house, mail, car etc

blue in my state you are allowed and nay encouraged to carry a loaded firearm on your own property, as my business is attached to my house , i can carry a loaded gun without any need for declarations or licenses , as it is my land to defend. but you have an excellent point, though most of us fans of HI i suspect are not the types who look for trouble even if we enjoy weapons.

I feel sorry for you guys in the west, in TN we are essentially ensconced( enshrined, perhaps obsessed) with guns

This right here. Most, not all but most cops will be able to tell in a few minutes conversation that your not up to no good and let you roll. This of course doesn't apply in California, Mass, NY, Chicago, Jersey and a few other places.

Be nice to get some senators and congressman and a real president that understand this concept.

That's true, I guess it all depends on the cop's discretion. I feel like I'd have a better chance explaining why I'm carrying a medium sized "traditional looking" folding knife than I would explaining why I'm carrying some large, scary looking tactical knife.

Where I am I think you can carry anything you want as long as it isn't concealed, so if I really felt the need to carry something for self defense I'd just wear it as a neck knife or something. On the other hand, I've read that when you do find yourself getting mugged or whatever, your adrenaline is going to be pumping so hard that you won't have the wherewithal to use whatever you have on you for protection. So it's sort of useless unless you're trained to use it and just let your reflexes take over.

also got to remember that we are trying to regulate more and more people with less and less space. so some over vigilance is a bit appropriate, on the part of the cops, in the case of armed persons in public places.

yeah I feel like you are right when we are less than 7 billion, but as things get more and more crowded -- its just like keeping crazy people from owning guns, sometimes honest people have to do more paperwork to keep whackos from ever having a gun-- same principle,
I dont think people who are well vetted should be denied the right to carry in public, but on the other side we need to stop ignoring the fact that our society tunes people to violence and its acceptance, all the recent spree killers were young people raised in a culture where they got gratification through fantasized violence, and as they became more mentally ill, it was a natural progression into seeking gratification through deadly violence, because they are already so disconnected from reality.
I mean you should have the right to say what you want and to make what kind of art you want etc buuut there should be some responsibility on the part of entertainment and profiting corporate interests and their effect on the minds of individuals ( who are less than individual) most people are made to be lead, even if you feel very comfortable being totally free, that freedom is innately dangerous -- as in if we had total freedom there would be no salmon left nor cod nor tuna etc -- now im rambling but there is a whole bunch of complex issues at work in our country and the crime and the violence etc -- I love guns and dont want to see the law change in that respect , but I think there needs to be a change at a more basic level to ever meaningfully stop the progression of senseless violence in our country.

technically though I think crime has fallen by 20 percent since the 90s? not sure though
