End of the line...The Traveling Delica Volume #4 ... Is home!

I listened to a YouTube video on my drive to work this morning by Dr. Larrin Thomas, AKA Knife Steel Nerds, talking about K390. I'm excited to get to try it here with K when my turn comes around.

He is one smart dude! I feel like I have to listen to his videos 2-3 times before I can digest everything he's saying.

Anyhow, I hope you're all having a great week.

It's always fun to try new designs, but in the end I suppose we've each chosen our own EDC's for a reason.

I have 4 kids. Each of them owns multiple knives, but with the exception of my son who is the oldest, they don't own a folder that is mid-to-higher end. They each currently EDC a Delica or Dragonfly. I had left a G10 PM3 on the kitchen table yesterday afternoon, and happened back into the kitchen to find my third child - perhaps the most mechanically inclined? - repeatedly opening and closing my PM3 with "that smile" on her face. Suddenly she's old enough to realize that she isn't happy with FRN and lock-backs forever. LOL! In fact, if it weren't for her obsession with all things purple, I probably wouldn't have gotten that gray PM3 back at all! Now I get to have the $221.20 discussion with her over how bad she really wants the blurple G10 PM3 in S110V and what it's worth to her - does she want it now out of her pocket, or can she wait till Christmas. :)

So, over the past week, K has performed a pretty wide range of tasks, including…
1. Daily household chores such as: cutting tape, tags, boxes and paper
2. Office days opening letters and cutting whatever else I could find that would in some way justify using an edged tool
3. General campfire and outdoor responsibilities suck as carving up sticks, cutting cord, etc

I also cleaned up K and introduced it to the strop for a little fine tuning.

Some takeaways:
Disappears in the pocket
Edge performance is good and it’s thin enough to be an excellent slicer
Handle is a little thin for my taste, but the handle scales offer a good grip
I like the deep carry clip and have used it before, but I like the shorter style (see pic of PM3 above) but that’s more of a personal thing

It’s been a fun test! I’ll try to put it through a few more paces and get an action shot or two this weekend. uxo2…when you get a chance, PM me with where it is supposed to go next.
