Good afternoon friends. As many of you know I love the Resilience very much. It had to be the first knife, therefore, that I rebladed. Let me be up front: The detent is a little loose, but the knife stays closed. Until I reduced the size of the knife to what it is now, however, the tip would poke out of the scales in the closed position. It doesn't now. Also, the lockup, though quite secure and strong, is not 100% perfect. I can't rightly call it up and down play, but I can make it "tick" and I can feel the vibration in my hand, even though I cannot see or feel the blade actually moving. Not by shaking it, mind you, but I have to grab the blade and forcibly try to move it up and down. If you are one to reject anything but absolute perfection in lock up and the snappiest possible deployment, then you will not be satisfied with this knife. BUT the lockup is more than functional enough for an EDC knife, and the deployment might solicit a little wrist or fast thumbs if you want to flick the blade out (but it's still easier to deploy than any back lock Spyderco). So there is your "caveat emptor. Now to the good stuff:
Deep carry titanium pocket clip, set up Military style, i.e. right hand tip down carry. The scales themselves are tapped, not the liners. Some may question the strength of G10 for tapping clip screws. It is plenty strong enough, and this is not the first time I have done this to a knife. I used to carry a Cold Steel Recon 1 XL that I modded to wharncliffe; I shortened the handle and re-tapped it for a deep carry clip. It held just fine, and I carried it frequently. If you like this knife, but want the clip moved, I will put it where you want before I package it up.
Hand filling, comfortable scales in blue and black G10, hand textured to increase grip, and hollowed on the inside to reduce weight.
Last but not least: AEB-L reblade! This is a completely brand new blade for this knife, in AEB-L at 63 RC, not only radiused spine for luxurious comfort, but ground by me to a laser thin .004" behind the edge, increasing to .024" at the tip to preserve tip strength. What more needs to be said? This knife will be an extremely good performer for you, and I am offering it at a price that doesn't even let me break even on all I have done to it.
Specs
Steel: AEB-L, 63 RC
Geometry: two thirds height saber, near zero grind, up to .024" behind the edge at the tip.
Overall Length: 8 1/4"
Cutting Edge Length: 3.1/4"
Weight: 4.8 oz
Handle: Blue and black G10, hand textured, internal side hollowed.
Box, papers, original blade, clip, and scales included (original blade and scales reground also)
WITHDRAWN
Thanks for looking! (and please excuse my hands, it seem like they are always covered in glue)
