Endura Love :-)

Spyderco has fixed the problem with the Endura4 and Delica4 with thicker blades and tips. I wouldnt touch a Gen3 endura... but I love all 4 of my gen 4 Enduras.
I'm not even sure what "generation" it is, but the first Endura I ever bought a number of years ago was one of the older ones with the finer point on it. I've used that knife as an EDC for years now without breaking the point on it and I have to suspect that those who did were misusing the knifes for prying or something (At least I consider it misuse. YMMV).

In any case, although I still love the Gen4 Enduras, I much prefer the slimmer tip of my old one. ;)

Why do you guys think that endura is such a great knife? I have experiences with 2 or 3 enduras, on every there was weakness of blade. There are not more than 0,5-1mm of steel which lock blade.

Are you talking about the back lock?

I agree.I love the older blade shape much better. If only there was a way to get the generation 3 blade on the generation 4 handles.

Ship your Gen 4 to Tom Krein for a FFG and splinter picker tip with a .010" edge and you will outcut any factory Gen 3 I know of. From personal experience I can tell you it is a superb geometry for my ZDP Endura.

As for serrations, I must concur that the E4 Wave has the best serrations I have ever used. Very smooth cutting like a PE with the edge retention and other inherent good qualities of a Spyderedge.

Chicken eye: My bad bro! I like YOUR Izula haha.

Mdauben: I totally agree that its very rare to break a tip unless you are using it for what it is not intended to be used for. It's just nice to have more strenght in the Gen4 Enduras.

Laurin: You are the first I have ever heard to have lock problems on the endura. As more versions are made, Spydercos back lock i'm sure has been updated and improved. Maybe it's an older generation.

I have never heard of locking problems with the endura, though I have heard of some that had a little blade play, that being said I would buy one in an instant, (if I didnt like my para so much!):D actually I had a chance to handle an endura 4 this weekend and I gotta say thats one solid knife. especially for the kind of money your talking about, I dont know of any other manufacturer offering that level of performance in that price point. awesome
