Endura vs Stretch which do you prefer?

I still love the Delica and Pacific Salt, but.... I bought the Stretch 6 months ago just as an excuse to get some more hap40. It grew on me really quickly and I have a hard time choosing my other folders over it for edc now...even the Deica and pm2.

Yea, I really like how it fits in the hand, but I don't love the somewhat obtuse tip. I know you got around that by regrinding the spine to make the tip more acute. I think I'd be afraid of botching it. :)

I have large hands and I would not recommend the Stretch. It's the least used knife in my collection right now and I only keep it because it's super blue. I really wanted to like it but my fingers feel cramped and the choil isn't deep enough. If I were you I'd buy a millie.

Its SUPER easy to do with nothing but a flat table and a piece of sandpaper. I think I made a thread about how I did it. Really, it's almost impossible to screw up. :)

I wear XL gloves and the Stretch has recently become by favorite Spyderco. It fits my hand perfect, and choking up on the choil gives me very precise control. I think it comes down to personal preference for everyone. Happy hunting!

I love the Stretch and the Endura is one of my least favorite Spydies. The finger bumps on the Endura are all in the wrong place. The Stretch fits like a glove.

Endura or Stretch....

The Endura...

Stretch looks funky...

Besides, I can get a custom set of G10 scales for it just about anywhere......

And yes I have owed Stretch's.
VG10
ZDP
SB
Hap40

And they are all gone to new homes.

Your SB...Keep it....Buy a set of Custom scales for it...

Another vote for the Stretch. Became my favorite folder as soon as I held and used one! Also love the Stretch 2!

Its not alot but my pinky finger bits into the handle of the pm2 a bit but it looks to me as the stretch has a bit more restate.

I have the same problem. Even the Military has my fingers touching the guards front and aft. The Endura gives me a lot of real estate to move my hand around. However, that first finger bump/choil had to be sanded down smooth and flat in order for the knife to work for me. I am about to buy my first Stretch, a Super Blue I found at a B&M. I have high hopes.

Can you post a picture of your modded Endura im curious to see what it looks like i was thinking about doing that but im worried about getting to close to the bidirectional pattern.
Thanks

+1 for the stretch as well. After I got mine in HAP40 it has also kicked most of my other spydies out of my pocket for edc. Its just a great all around knife imo.

I really want to like the endura, and own a couple, but its ergo's just seem a little off. The stretch surprised me -- I thought it was ugly at first, but its really grown on me. Super comfortable to use.

For anyone who is wondering whats going on im still looking to trade but i went ahead and sanded down the hump on my Matriarch (same handle as Endura) and i like the results it feels way better in the hand but im not going to do it to the SB Endura.

Both fit in my size XL hands well . I am not a Endura fan had a few sold them. Not a fan. As for comfort the PM2 is the most comfortable and best ergonomics to me in the Spyderco line.

Been carrying one version of the Stretch or another almost every day since it first came out in late 2004. Own at least one "intact" specimen of every version that's been made, plus a few that I've had customized. Have a couple Enduras in my collection, but none of them has ever seen pocket time. Like the way the Stretch handle fits my hand, it's 50/50 choil, and that it's the perfect size to ride loose in a back pocket. Endura handle lacks the choil, does not position my hand consistently, and perhaps worst of all, is just to long to fit across the bottom of a back pocket.

I have a fairly large hand and cannot use a knife that is less than 4" closed length.
I have Enduras, Delicas and several Stretch models. The Endura is too large (long) for my hand. The Delica is decent; the Stretch is great and feels so comfortable.

Well i just tracked down a place that still has a few in stock and bought one in Hap40 like what i wanted. Since i have had no interest in a trade yet ill just have too see i guess there's no point in trading now... What i dont understand is that it seems like a lot of people have the same problem with the Endura as me. Its too long and doesn't fit the hand quite right, i would think they would have fixed it long ago. Even after my mod its still not the most comfortable thing just not awkward anymore.

Edit: Maybe when i get some time ill make myself some custom wood scales for the Endura. (If there is any interest in this i might make a thread and show the process in doing that)

I modded my Endura similar to your photo but left the second bump alone. I am okay with it. I like how slim it rides in my front pocket. I would get a Caly 3.5 but the price keeps me away. I have high hopes for the Stretch.

I am glad you found that HAP40. I was going to buy one from them (I assume you found them sooner than later). But, finding the Super Blue stopped that idea. We will have to compare notes since we both have large thick hands.
