Endura, one of the best blade designs ever. FRN scales...well. How many would jump on the chance to pre pay on a sprint run of Enduras with G-10 scales. Just trying to get a petition going so Spyderco might hear our requests. Every now and then one of the Foliage G-10 Enduras comes up on Ebay and the bidding war is on. usually they go for about the cost of 3 Enduras with stainless or FRN scales. Would anyone else like to see this wonderful design get the scales it deserves.

im sure it will come around again sooner or later. and the pimped scales isnt such a bad idea, i havent looked into it but the endura is so popular that there must be a dozen colors/textures

The usual reason a knife is discontinued is poor sales. The G-10 Endura was discontinued. Personally, I think the puke green scales may have been a factor, but maybe I'm the only one.

I just bought an Endura in ZDP-189 I would be upset if they just now decide to offered it in G-10.

the G10 endura 4 competes to closely with other models currently being offered.

just get a para 2, it's approximately the same size as the endura 4, it actually weighs less than a G10 endura 4, plus it has a better lock.

In the case of nearly all other knives/companies (e.g., Benchmade Griptilian), I'd be all over an offering of a knife I really like with handles made from G-10 instead of FRN/Valox/etc. But I have to say, I love what Spyderco does with the FRN on a lot of their models -- particularly the ones with bi-directional texturing such as the Endura, Stretch, and Delica -- so this would be one case in which I probably wouldn't pull the trigger on one. The fact that I'm perfectly happy with the FRN version is why, even before the G-10 Endura was discontinued, I never felt the urge to get one even though the Endura is one of my favorite knives.

No, you are not alone on this. FG scales prevented me from buying several knives, Endura was one of them.

IDK I thought that the puke green was not all that bad. After a couple days use and carry it seemed to appear more gray than green (particularly when you get a little dirt into the texture of the G-10). Opinions vary.

One of the reasons these go for so much might have something to do with the fit and finish...I feel like it is several steps above most other Spydercos in my collection (which are all pretty good to begin with).

Jimnolimit, I tried the Military it wasnt for me. And it seems to me that the lock style on the Endura is as strong of a lock up as I have seen. Is the liner lock supposed to be stronger? Allcaps 321 I am not familar with the ZDP-189...I am very new to spydercos. There are a few folders that just seem way ahead of the others to me and the Al Mar Sere 2000 and the Spyderco Endura are out at the head of the pack....In my opinion. Thank you guys for pointing out there are after market scale makers I did not even think of that. Any suggestions on who or where to look?

I love my puke green G10 Endura and Delicas.

(I also love my FRN Delicas and Salts.)

I think it will be offered again with G10, but that may be a while.

The Folaige Green is by far my most favorite G10. Its the only spyderco G10 I would carry, other than black, and maybe digi cam.

I would love to see a FG PARA 2.

I'm too old to play soldier, and I don't need help losing knives, so foliage green, dirt brown and any kind of camoflage on a knife handle hold absolutely no appeal for me. I'd rather have yellow, orange, purple or even pink than that washed-out grey-green.

Had you tried the para 2? Here is a pic of the endura 4 ZDP and para 2:

Another model that comes close to a G10 endura 4 is the Byrd cara cara 2 G10. The steel is not as good as VG-10 or ZDP, but it's almost the same knife (and no, the scales don't fit):

Aftermarket scales for the endura 4 aren't cheap, they run around $80-$100.

Playing soldier doesn't have one thing to do with why i don't like bright colors. I'm 50 and have never even owned a shirt that wasn't black, grey, white, tan, navy blue or some shade of non bright green:o Yeah, my daughter does gives me a hard time, lol.
I really dislike purple, pink, yellow, red or orange on anything(except a hunting vest, lol).

I haven't owned a truck that wasn't black in over 30 years, and I can't think of a thing in my house with much color.

I dislike black blades, or anything that looks tactical though.
I'm just a bore:p

BTW, I've never lost a knife... or any of my clothing:p
