I would like you all to see a picture of an engraved Buck 110 that was done in the Western Bright Cut Style but I can't get it on the forum because I don't know how. Seems like a real pain! You can look at the knife at www.arksknives.com if you want to.

I like a challenge...It might take a few hours to figure this out...everyone just hold on; I'll get it eventually... :grumpy:

Here's a link to the larger image...I'm not a fan of engraving, but it really is nice work...

It's probably not a challenge for someone that knows what they are doing like you Trax! I just think this forum could be a lot more easy to post a pic on! Thanks for doing it though.

If I'm an example of someone who knows what they are doing, then we are all in trouble!!! :D

The trick is not to *post* the pic...just link to it... ;)

and sometimes it's better to let someone else post the link... ;)

Hi Ark,

I see that you buy and sell a lot of knives. I also see that you used this forum as a way to post the link to your sales list. In addition, I see that you are in competition with the collectors on this forum and you out bid them on ebay. Then you jack the price up.:grumpy:

Here is just one you bought off ebay and the jacked the price.

So how about it Ark.....will you give the forum members a price brake??? If you don't want these knives we are trying to collect at least give us some respect and don't out bid us!!!!

And I linked the pic...I normally just grab any pic from any site to illustrate whatever it is being asked/talked about...for this one, I thought the engraving looked nice... :o So, maybe I was used...(eww, I feel so icky...)

But I will follow this thread with interest, as it does encroach on the Forum rules about posting Buy & Sell ads outside the designated Forum... :(

(This is one of the reasons I add a disclaimer to my 'modification' threads)

BTW: I was one of the many that were outbid by Arksknives on that blue-bone 110...but if Arksknives didn't get it, Whatabeaut probably would have...he seems to be another get-rich-quick Buck collector... :grumpy:

:grumpy: :grumpy: ...Great eye jb4570...I knew something wasn't right with that name when he popped in a short time ago. I've seen him do that many times but just wasn't sure it was the same name bidding til now. Greed is what it's all about for the "beauts" and now this guy"Ark"...:barf: . Thanks jb4570 for jumping on this...and Trax...don't kick yerself for being one of the guys willing to help us ALL out in the forum...

That's funny!

Anyway, what the heck, the mark up on the 110 Bone, when ya look at the two pages, the "Win Bid" to the "Buy It Now", is only a 40% profit.

Yeah, I saw the post and went to the link to look at the engraved knife and thought it was quite nice. At the same time, I thought it was pretty brazen to post that for one's own sale page. Could've at lease used a different log-on to throw of the scent. But I got a feeling "JB4570 Columbo John" would have sniffed it out!!!!

I am sorry I offend so many of you. I was not trying to break any rules or make anybody mad! I am a collector and enjoy Buck knives as much as each of you. I guess I really don't look at who I am bidding against as I really can't remember all the I.D.'s anyway. Sorry for any hard feelings and I will quit posting on your forum.

Wow...I'm not offended. Don't take it so hard.
Speaking for myself, Arkskives being a capitalist is pretty low on my list of things that will piss me off...

 ...I wouldn't say I was THAT upset there gooser...However, I think someone who joins a forum two(2) years ago, watches to see what the forum members are currently showing a lot of interest in, then buying up what's currently of interest to jack up the price and make a profit off the very members he was bidding against, can generate a bit of "resentment" from those members. After two(2) years of belonging to the forum, the first post made by the individual was just two(2) months ago, and that was a request for Buck display information. The first thing I would think is that someone wanted to show off his collection...not prepare it for resale...I do "resent" that...and as an American...I don't have to and won't buy from him. I know far too many "real members" who have knives for sale now and then and I would rather buy from them. The "Exchange" here is great. You will NEVER see me buy a knife and sell it to a forum member at a profit. I might even send something to someone for NOTHING if I have more than I need...Sorry...I'm an ideological fool about stuff like that...This rant has subsided...

My request for the display information was for ME to display MY own collection! I think you are jumping to too many conclusions! I joined the forum 2 years ago and never was on it until I started collecting Buck knives. Everything being said about me is completely untrue other than I may have outbid some of you on eBay. Some I resell, some I keep. Oh, well.

...I wouldn't worry too much about what I say AK...I tend to say what's on my mind and leave it at that. Nothing wrong with making a "buck" as everyone has to make a living. There have been a few people who popped into the forums to do exactly what I was talking about. They saw what we talked about, bought 'em up, and priced a lot of us out of consideration when it came to filling holes in collections and some are still doing it. High prices are always great for the providers of services...they are not too neat for those of us who have to pay up when the inflated services are wanted or needed. No one has to give a forum member a break on prices...we all do what we feel is right for ourselves. This forum is everyone's, your's included...Post more often and let's talk about Buck knives and how neat they are...There's more knowledge on Buck knives here than I could ever hope to come close to...and I'd like to think you could add to it...

Don't worry about it, I can't really pay much attention to who I bid against on fleabay. Too many id's to remember. Some people purchase knives and do not care for them once they recieve them or just get bored with them and sell them for what they may be worth, whether it's more than they payed for knives anyway.

Sirusly, thanks for putting your thoughts in perspective D. At first I thought it was a fellow Noob.
I didn't have the history you had or the investigative skills of JB4570.

Ark,

No one here wants you to stop posting on the forum ;) . We all want to hear what other Buck collectors thoughts and ideas are! In addition, we want to know what your likes and dislikes are as well  . I wish I could run a knife buy/sell business like you; but, I'd go broke because I'd never make a profit (not much of a capitalist I guess:( ).

I Have some aggression issues due to the last collectable gig I was into. A few bad apples in a group can spoil the fun for the whole bunch. It got so bad that I quit and sold off everything because it was so frustrating. There were about four peeps with deep pockets that bought up all of the limited edition items that became available. Then they could and did charge what ever price they wanted for them. That took all of the fun out of collecting that stuff. So when I saw some of that same behavior or what I perceive as the same behavior, I wanted to point it out. Yes, I understand you are running a business and it's hard to keep track of who is who; However, you did put your name on this forums EBAY ID list.....so....well.....just keep it in mind. Ok...Ok....enough said on this topic time to move on:thumbup: .

Ark,
What Buck knives do you collect? Do you only collect Buck knives or are you a switch hitter and collect other knives as well? Don't be shy; what is Arksknives all about?:) Oh, please post a pic of your Buck knife display; I'd love to see it.

jb4570

My collection is mostly of Buck 110's and some Buck hunting knives as well. I do collect Case and anything else that may appeal to me. I will post pics of my collection as soon as you teach me how. That is how I got into this mess in the first place! My computer skills are fairly limited especially when it comes to all that computer talk that I don't understand. Help me out and I'll post pics of some of my collection. Most are put in the safe but I have several displays I could post.
