Engraved Buck 110

If you noticed, PhotoBucket changed their format slightly...Instead of being in a drop-down menu, the "Generate HTML and IMG code" button is in a side-by-side button row now...

Also, the "Generate HTML and IMG code" button is used mostly for the thumbnail code; you can lift the direct IMG link right from the code beneath each pic...

I am sorry I offend so many of you. I was not trying to break any rules or make anybody mad! I am a collector and enjoy Buck knives as much as each of you. I guess I really don't look at who I am bidding against as I really can't remember all the I.D.'s anyway. Sorry for any hard feelings and I will quit posting on your forum.

well 334dave here, i have bid agenst ark and i have won and lost and i have bought from him... he is no difrent then any one else with deep pockets and he is welcome to buy and sell and that makes him no diffrent then a distributer who buys and sells
note : if you are a BCC member you should review your letters and read of Larry O.
some of you here have paid moere on ebay then you would have elseware and i also have been gulity of auction feaver ...

truly i worreyed of this first time i seen a posting of ebay id vs forum id... i have bought and sold some i bought ( i made only 5$ on 3 of them with buy it now ) the ones i have bought at bargons i keep as i bought to fill my collection ... and yes some times i see some one i know on ebay bidding and i jest dont bid as i know i dont have deep enught pockets but it is MY choice to not bid why run up a bid i cant afford to buy and if i do want it i do bid to what i will spend and thus what it is worth to me not others which is only what any collector should do ...other wise you could be an invester - which is ok also but some what risky ! humm any one rember base ball cards?

Note also i have said about things i had for sale and had JOE say well well you r aproching a NO NO so eddited out ofending referances ... we all would like to make a "buck" off one were we want another more and i do try to traide rather then buy and sell ask both 'bute and ark sence both had names listed ...

as one who has lost a lot of bids to them i will defend them and they should contuned to post as ... well they must have there finger on the pulse of buck collectors and thus we all benny from their actions and knolage ...
note i am sadden to have read some of the things i have in this thread but levery one has a privlage to rant but do it in the rant section and maby here tone it down please we all like the knives... and it is all about the knives
i for one dont want anyone to leave ... :o

Well said, Dave. There are two kinds of Buck fever and I find myself subject to both of them at the worst times. Ark, you are completely welcome as far as I am concerned. Besides, you have some really nice knives and that is what I came here to see.

Hi Arksknives,
Been a while since I've seen a post from you on the Blade Forum. I know I got mad at you for stepping on us little guys when we bid for a knife on ebay. More than a few of the others guys gave you a hard time as well!!!! Just wanted to say "Thank you for shooting a flaming snipers arrow into me again". Oh, I thought it was time to bring this old thread back to the top. Sorry to all the other fellows for beating a dead horse, But I just needed to blow off some steam!

Now I am going to become a gold member so I can buy and trade with true Buck knife collectors. I hope that all of the other BF members boycott you for your tactics. You are one of the few guys who put your name on the ebay ID list so you we wouldn't step on each other. But, what the heck your just in this to make a BUCK MR. Deep pockets (LOL)

I know where you are going with this, and I have tried to use that source...but anything I wanted was already sold; and the others I was interested in continue to be listed but are flagged 'sold'...so if they're sold, why list them???

I suspect that the mail is the problem. I have the same problem with the BCCI newsletter. If you live near the mailing point, you get next day service. If you're across the country, it takes 3 - 4 days; more on a weekend. Guys lucky enough to live nearby get their lists/newsletters first, can phone and reserve the knives they want before the rest of us (well, me anyway) even see them.

It would be nice if knife sellers had a web site with pics, descriptions, and up to date listings, but I know people who do similar sites and it quickly turns into a full time job...not a hobby...

Well, sorry I can't remember every eBay name that appears in the auctions that I am interested in. If it makes you feel any better, you can have the knife for what I paid for it. If it is as nice as the person selling it said it was, then it was going into MY collection. I don't intentionally step on anyones toes in this forum. Yes, it happens, but we collect the same items. Again I am sorry for upsetting you.

I find myself bidding against Forum members on eBay quite frequently...Once I even won the auction... :D

hey gang: If I am not mistaken, Larry O. announced in his last email ( are you on his mailing list? ) that, to insure more availablility, Buck is waiting to receive orders before producing some of their Limited Editions. Maybe this will help those of us who have had that disappointment of the "sold out" syndrome. I missed out on that last BCC 110 drop point, so I know the pain.

p.s. Not sure how I feel about this thread.. When my money is right, I sometimes buy a backup piece to sell later. To my wife's dismay, I have not done any sellin' ( just trading ), but I think selling something later can ease the pain of spending a little too much for it in the first place. ( if you are willing to take the gamble ). At least, I use that to justify my over-spending. As long as the person really likes the knives and is not trying to become some kind of middleman/profiteer, I can uderstand him trying to recoupe some of his investment. I also understand the feeling of betrayal by those who were outbid.
Does listing my 2003 Father's Day knife for $400 make me a bad person? Afterall, my wife wanted me to sell something and since one sold for $377 on ebay, I thought it was a reasonable asking price. I don't really even want to sell it. If a buyer wants to pay that much, it is between him and the seller. If we stop paying the higher price, he will stop buying and marking up. If demand for your pieces is greater, it is not your fault. It is the market.
Beyond all of that, knife people are generally among the most genuine and helpful folks that this old boy has run into lately. Take care, Rob

I think there are several others here who will order two "specials" in the future...and sell off the worst one and keep the better of the two...

...Rather than give up [for repair] a long-awaited "special" that may or may not be any better when received back from Buck...

...My $.02...

i assume ~ but you know how that is spelled ~
that it is a last sec snipe that won (ie:hit the mark) -vs- many that dont win
and i admit i will have to look up -Patagonian- i have heard it before but-

Yes. It has taken me a long time to time my upbids to eBay so that I don't miss the auction completely...currently, I have an 18 second delay between sending my bid and having it register on eBay...that's with me already signed in, bid entered, and ready to hit the Confirm button...So I need to hit it ~20 seconds before the end of auction...(I'm on a dial-up connection)...

Actually, it doesn't give me any advantage...If whatabeaut has set a $400+ bid on a $40 item, I'll lose no matter what time I bid... :grumpy:

Hey Guys I LOVE LARRY ODENS consignment list!!!!!!! Its the best thing since sliced bread!!!!!! And sometimes you get better deals on ebay Just have to keep ALL of your options open! As far as bidding against other members- I DO NOT unless I completely missed it! DO NOT!!!! I have had things happen on ebay that frustrated me like when I have listed Buy it now or best offer. I avoid that problem now by not offering best offer or bin just auctions.
SOMEONE I KNOW OFFERS ME LOW BALL OFFER- I accept because they are a fellow Buck collector only to see 2 weeks later it relist on ebay. That Pi**es me off. I dont care if you want to bid against me though!!!! It just saves me money :D when I lose!!!!! Thanks!!!

Trax, Dave and All,

That is what I'm  about. There are a few of these guys that have been mentioned in a few of our threads that snap up everything and then resell to us at high mark up:grumpy: . All in all, it's a free world and these guys can do what ever they want (that's their right).

However, in an old thread about 29 members put their ebay ID's in so that we (BF members) wouldn't step on each other. The guy I'm talking about put his name and ID in the thread. But, still steps on us (me)!!!! He said, sorry...so...we'll see if he truly means that or not.

There were plenty of BF members that did not post their ebay ID's and some even said they may or may not out bid those on the list if the wanted or needed what was up for bid. If one of those not on the list were to bid I also may or may not bid against them (after all that's what the ID list was for).

I shouldn't be mad after all it's an auction site and the seller wants to get the most for whatever they are selling. It was a bad day for me yesterday....so... I'm sorry to all that I came here to complain about it (nuff said about this):foot: .

Dont be sorry John,
Its good that everyone know how we feel. I think we are all grown up enough to handle some constructive criticizm.
I sell quite a bit on ebay. I buy also! I usually email the guys I know if I have anything they may want, before I list on ebay. I am not out to get rich either.
If I do list an item on ebay I try to combine shipping or ship for free if I know they are a collector or BCCI. There isnt anything wrong with getting upset about it! After all capitalism sucks and greed makes the world go round!
I sell knives not to get rich either, but I do sell on ebay... They go for what the auction goes for! Usually I bought several and keep the best one(s) :D
Sometimes I buy one to resell BUT I wait until it is out of my feedback OR I sell it cheaper because I didnt like it! To each his own I guess. Common courtesy should apply... Arks you have great knives! I appreciate the bids
I hope everyone I sell to or buy from is happy with the end result...
Glad we could have this little chat! :)
Jim:)
Forgot to add:
Sometimes we need to sell some hopefully to buy a different or Better one!!!!!!!!!
By the way how do I get on this ebay ID list :D
