Hi Everyone.

I've been engraving since 2012, 2013 got my own tools. Since then I have mostly been working on knives, many custom knives.

I am happy to work in Titanium, various Stainless steels, brass, bronze, copper, nickel silver.

I haven't worked in much gold and silver but am practicing, also teaching myself inlay and bulino at the moment.

Engraving on the blades is fine as long as I can do the work before it's heat treated, 440C and ATS34 are both very successful for that.

I try to give an accurate estimate of cost based on the subject and basically what's wanted and having done a sketch for the customer I have a good idea of what will be involved. I am not charging for artwork at the moment, (fairly basic artwork that is)... but clear enough to give the picture usually.

Thanks all

Questions definitely welcome.

Regards

Danae.

This is the KITH knife I made for this past year's competition. I got a really cool kitchen knife in exchange.

Ringed Gidgee, 416 bolsters and pins and 440C blade.

I didn't get any better pictures, I was still finishing it when the deadline came around. Just got it through. Engraved the pins to balance the engraving off without touching the bolsters.

Sole Authorship. Haven't sent it away for heat treat yet. Considering a Ferric etch or something. It's as light as a feather.

Collaborations with a Western Australian tattoo artist gave rise to these really cool knives, hope you like them, will list the boker for sale shortly.

This is a Bruce Crawley custom .Bruce was a Melbourne maker of world wide renown.
Owner bought the blank and put it together. It began life with very very boring wood scales and went hunting. It has progressed to as you see it now. Now it is finished with Australian Gumleaves and Gumnuts engraved

Had the tremendous pleasure of engraving this beautiful little folder with 416 scales for Peter Bald a couple of weeks ago. He gave me my head with the design so I came up with this and a kinda symetrical design I couldn't decide which was better so I asked engravers for their opinion and it was hands down this one. hope you like it.

Sure is. Thanks for sharing your passion with us, Danae.

All this work has been done in 2015. I'll look through older work and post a few of them soon too.

Photos above are a Del Raso dagger step by step. There's a finished photo I'll find soon, it was a set, mammoth ivory one done some years ago and the mother of pearl one done a bit over a year after that after the purchase of my microscope to look through while I engrave. My work quality went up dramatically with that step. He called them the beauty and the beast.
