Enlighten me to another brand.

Looking for another knife. I mainly own Benchmade because I love their CS & warranty. I really like knowing that if I somehow break my blade, they will replace it for a nominal fee.

So, what other brands have that kind of service & warranty?
I've got about $180 to spend.

Things I haven't tried but want too are.
Frame lock
Titanium
Flipper w/ball bearings (or other good materials)
M390
S110V
S90V
Obviously all boxes don't need to be checked on this knife!

Things I don't want
Liner locks/traditional/lock back
Lower quality blade steel
Assisted

I haven't tried ZT yet (i want too) but most of their offerings are out of my price range and the couple that aren't don't grab me.
I do own a couple Spyderco's but their thin tips and refusal to replace blades make me nervous.

So, help me spend my money. And if you want to include links, I wouldn't hate you for it!
Thanks in advance!

Yesterday I was looking for knives with almost this exact specification, but then spent a bit more. For $240 I bought a ZT 0095TANBLK in S90V. I'm looking for the same steels, same price range.

ZTs are great, most all the new ones use cpm20cv except the 0095 sprint runs they all use s90v. I have all 3 and the tan/blk is really cool in person, and the tiger stripe very tactical.

Funny u mention this topic, I’m like you but my collection was all Kershaw/ZT until lately I tried a Benchmade and loved it. Now I own 3 lol
Btw Spyderco seems to have a cult following, and maybe they are good knives, but I think most of em look ugly as hell

Spyderco Shaman is a thicker stock, compression lock blade that you could abuse.

For the ones you want to try (titanium framelock), maybe a secondhand Spydiechef. They seem hard to come by in the Exchange, but I bought mine new and love it. Amazing action and corrosion proof.

Other than that there are plenty of Spydies that are great, I don't think the tip should be an issue if you aren't abusing them.

I only own one ZT (450) and it has the best flipper action among anything I've held, kind of small handle for my hands but it's a nice solid knife.

I agree! I have a lot of knives...a few Spydercos, absolutely in love with their use of steels, but not a fan of the leaf shape blade. I almost always wait for them to produce a little something in a high end steel with a nice blade shape.

The leaf shape blade TO ME, just does not cover all of the bases for a knife. It is good at slicing but does not look that good for piercing/thrusting like my daggers would, or 75% of all knives made. The shape is "cute" but I'm not looking for cute. If Spyderco would just make knives shaped like KA-BAR, Benchmade, ZT....I'd probably own 50 of them.

I'd be curious to see how often OP actually contends with breaking blades or blade tips.

Tons of people here are obviously going to recommend Spyderco because they do everything you are specifically asking for, and yet hilariously some of the responses here seem to be along the lines of "they look ugly", or "the tips are too delicate", or "leaf shaped blades are bad for some reason".

Check out the exchange for a new or slightly used ZT at your price point. You won’t break the blade, but it’s is nice knowing that if you did they would replace it cheaply.

I gave the reason. Why buy a knife that is only a good box cutter, when I can buy a dedicated box cutter. I'm looking for a little more from my knives.
What on Earth would lead you to think that a leaf shaped blade is only good as a box cutter? That makes zero sense. They're like a drop point but broader; they positively excel at slicing when ground like Spyderco does them.

I'm not even a huge fan of Spyderco but come on.

I agree. If you would please go back and read what I initially wrote, I said they were good slicers.

I want more than that.

I've never broken a blade/tip....yet. but the piece of mind knowing that if I do, my expensive blade will be replaced without question or for a nominal fee is worth it to put spyderco into a lesser option even though their quality, craftsmanship, fit & finish are all top notch.
It's why I own Silencerco cans. I've never had a baffle strike....yet. but if I do, I know they'll fix the suppressor for free. Hell, even if I fail to close the lock ring and send the can down range not only will they fix my mistake free of charge but refinish the can too!
That piece of mind is worth a lot to me.
YMMV.

Leaf shaped blades are tough, handling penetration well as slicing and push/pull cuts. But the op didn’t want a spyderco due to their lack of blade replacement policy such as have zt, Kershaw, and benchmade. And I wish spyderco had such a policy in place, but I realize why they couldn’t implement one.

Yeah he wont break the blade before the lock fails.

Yeah he wont break the blade before the lock fails.

First of all, I have yet to see any ZT lock issues in person.
Secondly, most every broken blade is from prying, in which the type of lock is pretty much irrelevant.

For prying bring a fixed blade made of s7. If you have only the zt, you have to survive the rest of the trip before you can send it back for replacement. I use the back of the blade to search for eadible crisps/critters (no failures), except for cicada time—I just place a net over the holes and get me weeks worth of scramp.
