I know what you mean, but just how brutal has your weather been?

The lows temps for past month here have been about -10 F every morning, in higher parts of the state -25 F has been quite common this winter..... the high temps lately have been 15-24 F.

IF this has not been the case for you guys, you should consider yourself quite fortunate as there's plenty of colder places, like Russia for example where snowfall has been enough to reach some rooftops!......

They've also seen temps as low as -58 F in certain parts, so I consider myself lucky at this point.....;):D

it's colder if you believe it's cold  pay it no mind
not to sound all new-agey, but it works for some people. I'm t-shirting it out right now.

It was so dang cold this morning! I am ready for summer as well

Ugh, tell me about it. I can't wait until it warms up enough that it's not frosty on the shady patches of road so I can finally get outta my cage and back on the Harley.

I really love the cold weather while its here because before I know it I'll be dieing from humidity at work feeling like a melting snowman.

Yeah, we been freezing down here too....dipped down to high 40s last night. Brrrrrrrrrr...cold. Highs in the mid 60s-low 70s

Last week we had the longest stretch of frost days in years (5 days with nights below 32, one even got down to 28F).

Today, 81F.

Don't ya think this would be a great place to make knives?

We would welcome you in Apache Junction, Arizona!

Give Me MORE Snow!!!

I can't get enough of it. As a kid I wanted to live in Switzerland, for the snow.

We've had about five to six inches here, over the last week or so. Finally got chance to try out my snow socks (they fit the car wheels, like chains but much easier and quicker and actually a little better I think). They worked great for getting up and down our very steep and twisty road. Even the 4x4s struggle with it (although I think most of their owners around here don't actually know how to drive, on snow or dry roads).

Did I mention I love snow???

A couple of years ago, my wife and I made naked snow angles at midnight in our garden. That was the best year we had for snow recently with about eight to ten inches flat, much more in the drifts. That stayed around for a couple of weeks too.

Our weather patterns here have changed dramatically since I was a kid though. I remember (actually, not that long ago - 15 years) the snowplough piling snow up about eight feet heigh either side of one of the roads around here. There was just room for a lane of cars in each direction between the banks. A bit like being in a giant bob sleigh track. Winters are lot milder and wetter now, rather than cold and snowy. Boo, hiss!

Last year, my wife and I both had an impromptu day off together when both our works closed for the snow. We walked to a local park and had a picnic, sat on our picnic blanket and heating up hot chocolate and Jack Daniels with a storm kettle, while the snow still fell silently in huge, feather-like flakes.

It makes me laugh when it snows around here and everyone acts like the world is ending. They can't drive, complain about the cold, the trains stop running, if it goes on for a couple of days they all start panic buying at the local shops... Hilarious!

One year It had snowed heavily over the weekend and I was going to work on Monday morning. I was the only car on the motorway for the whole 25 mile journey. It was deep in snow and had just a couple of still visible wheel tracks in from someone else earlier. It's great the fun that can be had on a wide open, empty and snow-covered motorway, with a powerful rear-wheel drive car.... and I did! I was one of only four people (out of about forty) to turn up at work and we basically had a party for a few hours, then went home.

I wish we could have more snow!
