Enough of this cold foolishness, I am ready for spring. Yesterday was a mean teaser, got into the 50's. What did I do? Stay outside and chop/cut firewood all day long! Slipping and sliding in ice, slush, snow and mud. Nothing like carrying a load of firewood under one arm, a cat that has crawled under the wood pile in the other (he made it, no harm done ), and to go sliding. A pile of wood that might crush your toes in one arm, and a ball of furry knives in the other freaking out (I would be too, some fat guy might fall on me). It's going to be a nice day today, I'll be stuck inside all day. Had to watch a game I didn't care about, it was a great game though.

I am just done with winter. I used to love the snow, the cold. I am done. Bring spring on, let's have it. Trips to the mountains, to the beach, to the Bay. If gas prices stay low, I am driving every weekend to go hiking. Got a list of places to go.

Snow tomorrow, but this weekend looks good weather wise.

:foot::o:confused::eek::D

I'm right there with ya brother.

Right now I'll take 40°F. Since Jan.1 we have made it over the freezing mark three times. Every other day has been in the teens and single digits with a couple that got all the way into the upper 20's .

Every year around this time I start feeling like a cat in a tin s___ house. Absolutely stir crazy.

Well there is a thread I can certainly relate to!

The temps did climb a bit yesterday whicj was nice, but I was at work till dark anyway...

Plus all those fishing pics have me itching to get out, Bring on the spring!!!!!!!!!

Well, Punxsayawny Phil saw his shadow today, which means six more weeks of winter. Hah! I've always said that we're gonna get six more weeks of winter no matter.

But hang in there - spring isn't too far off.

Winter is no problem, there is about 5 full cords of dry wood ready for the furnace. -28 this morning, with sunshine expected. Cross country skiing regularly has brought me into good shape, allergies are non existant and so are any mice and of course the dreaded bugs.

However, the count down has begun towards black fly season. Only a few short months before they take charge of the outdoors. And then there is fire season, and I don't even want to think about it. Winter is fine with me.

I know what you mean about spring. We have day after day after day with-20 or more below Zero and only one day above freezing since mid Dec. Right now, the sun is shinning, no wind but yes it's -15 at 10am. We have 19 inches of snow on the level, if you could find a level between the 10 foot drifts. ND the windiest state in the lower 48 according to the NWS. Good for wind generated power.

Ever seen what a .243 will do to a varmint that bears bad news?

:D:p

Spring is a hayfever nightmare for me. I much prefer the nice chilly frigid winter. Two weeks of March and two weeks of April I am pretty much confined to being indoors.

I hear ya SHS. I always battle with depression during the winter months. Looking forward to the gunshow this weekend. See you there.

(thinking to myself)
PSN later vs PSK now. PSN later vs PSK now. PSN later vs PSK now.;):D

Okay, how about PSK now AND PSN later.

See ya on Saturday. :)

Like someone else said, the only up side to ND is that for 7 1/2 months each year, there are NO BUGS of any kind. They can't fly with over coats and snow packs on.:D

No way! I'm not done with winter fun yet! That trip to Mexico screwed me out of a week of snowy bliss! Next week I'm leaving for Dubai and will loose the rest of Feb's glorious fluffies. I'd rather be in the prairie with my dogs and blades than in the Desert with a silly ski hill enclosed by shopping mall :(

Ehh, as much as I LOVE the winter -- the snow kills me. (No, I do, I LOVE snow) but I cannot work with snow on roofs. Yes, there are leaks that can be fixed - but that gets me a measley one hour of work. I rather have unemployment.

I NEED to get back to work to make money.

SHS I do have a couple of Mini Tuskers you were asking about. ;)
50 degrees again today then 16 for the low on Thursday. :grumpy: The weekend, Friday, warming back up in the forties. Looking forward to groundhog hunting come April/May.

You're gonna have to show me how to cook those things. My father said he tried to do that with his buddy when they were kids. They stunk his buddy's house up so bad that they had to run like hell to escape the wrath of his buddys mother.

I'll tell you what. Write down some notes about what ever it is you will be discussing there, and I will take your place. All your colleages will comment on how young and handsome you became and you can enjoy your snow!

Its a win win:thumbup:
