Enough cold, I am ready for spring!

i want more snow and cold i hate the heat and rain.

Let me say, I do not want the heat of summer. 85 to 90 without humidity is fine, but I live in the mid Atlantic. Not humidity central, last summer wasn't as bad as it could have been. Days that are in the high 60's to mid 80's is fine with me.

Now, if I say in the summer that I wish winter was here again, point me in the direction of this thread :D.

I too am ready for warmer weather...

I would kill to have Ohio's middle fall weather year-round; temperatures relatively light in the middle sixties, the trees changing beautifully, and, most importantly in my book, the height of high school football season. I still play, and it's still a magical time for me. I would kill for that weather year round, and I could probably even live with a little rain from time to time.

:)

as much as i enjoy the winter, i am excited for the weather to come back...

dropping about 10 pounds from my pack for one...and having to worry about wearing too much instead of too little...and being able to flop down on the ground (not the snow!) and relax after a hike...all things i patiently await.

and i can't wait for warm weather to run in, more than anything. its so nice to just run for miles and never even think about my numb ears, nose and the burn in the back of my throat from the cold, dry air.

and of course i can hang out at the river swimming and canoeing with my pals.

EDITED to add;
it also means that i can finally take my shoes off!

Hey now! The snow just got deep enough to be considered optimum snowshoeing conditions, and you guys want it to get all warm and slushy?

Cowards! Wusses! Delicate temperature-sensitive Spring-o-philes! Put on a sweater and grow a pair, dammit!:p :D

Kidding aside, even though I love winter, I can understand why some people get fed up with it. For me, the worst part is the grey-brown combination of adhesive slush, road salt, and rock-hard ice that was once snow that now lines all of the streets here in Toronto. Absolutely hideous.

All the best,

- Mike

Absolutely, winter in the cities are ugly. If they wouldn't use salt in cold climates where snow is constant like in many Canadian cities winter would be much more bearable. Road salt impairs vision, often I am blinded by the endless mush, and its safe to assume that every other driver's vision is also impaired. With decent tires, there is better traction on snow, but little traction on mush.
