@ShepardCC has a reputation for being slow. He made me custom scales that were of incredible quality but took longer than originally quoted. I was aware going in that this was a likelihood so I was perfectly satisfied when I got my scales. However, if he sent you false tracking info it crosses a serious line that can't be brushed off.
 
Hmmm, based on your post and the shipping delay off of eBay, maybe he posted PHOTOS of 21 pairs of scales. Easier to post a photo than to make a pair, no?

Several threads on him. Buyer's need to do their research here before dealing with someone. It takes second to search his name here.

He has done this too many times to count.
It's a shame because he has a ton of talent. I've never heard of him actually robbing anyone, but the time estimates are meaningless.
Last I heard he wasn't taking custom orders anymore. He was only going to sell scales that were already made.
Another thing is he will only accept F&F as payment. He was supposedly screwed over by people using G&S. Not 100% sure, but I would guess those people that 'screwed' him were told 3 weeks and were still being BSed at the 3 month mark.

I guess Eric will never change. I thought he was on the right track a few months ago when he said no more custom orders.
That didn't last and the same ole same ole keeps happening.

This is getting old, once, maybe twice is one thing. Crap happens in life, but this is just plain getting old and tired. If you cannot use Paypal properly, then you really shouldn't be complaining about getting burned, since you in effect helped it happen. Failure to do proper research cannot be blamed on anyone either. SO here we are, back at square one. I've sent Eric a message regarding this thread.

When will people start doing things the way they need to? In order to maintain a positive reputation in the greater marketplace as well as as a buyer that protects themselves from potential theft. I cannot say I am shocked or disappointed at this.
 
I really thought he was going to straighten out Rev. He made some statements that seemed like he knew the problems and was making moves to change.
It really is a shame, because he does beautiful work.
I know of a couple of other members that experienced the same garbage, but didn't create a thread recently.
Guess it is ignore time.
 
Just my first and only experience with him and his service early this year.

He was definitely slow in providing me a tracking number for my international order as well. But it was over the year end/beginning. Understandable delay to me. After multiple E-mails and PMs, he did provide a working tracking number, which he stated may not work for international shipping. It did. He was also reachable by PM. So I was not too anxious about it.

Initially, he did say that he only accepts F&F payment. Luckily for me, F&F is not available where I live. I offered him to pay for the fee, and he agreed to go with G&S. This also eased my feeling very much.

The scale he made is beautiful. I am happy with it.

It was not without a flaw, though. The hole for the stop pin was too shallow for my Spydiechef, and I had to drill the hole deeper to adjust. It worked and became nearly perfect (It worked OK without the adjustment). I told him about the issue, and he told me that it would fit well with his knife and that it would be difficult to make it perfect for each knife without having it. Understandable, I guess.


This was my experience. Not too good, nor too bad. Will I use his service again? Maybe, if he accepts G&S.

IMHO, this type of behavior and these types of circumstances are only possible because we, as buyers, ALLOW it to happen. That's right, we allow it! Why would anyone use his service again, even if he did take G&S? Past experience has shown that he can still create headaches with delays and false tracking numbers (does he just make these up???). It then becomes a question of who can piss the longest for the $80 or so that you spent on the scales. Throwing money at Eric only gives him the ability to continue his poor practices. I know it is harsh, but talent or not, him going out of business is the only way he might change his ways.

Additionally, there are some very talented guys out there who are problem-free and can do exactly what Eric does. Why not just go with them instead? Why think with your emotions rather than with common sense and why perpetuate this stupidity?

You're right Keith. He demands FF so when your scales are 2 months late you cannot start a claim.

Yep he has so many GB&U complaints he should have his own sticky. Is his membership fees really worth the countless unhappy members he keeps producing here? Remembers a lot of new people dont really know the site they see a few good things and get taken by his bs. Without really knowing about his past or how to find out about it before it's to late
 
I looked up his page here can't seem to find one maybe he's gone from here if so better off for new people who don't know his games.
