ERU sharpener review. Latest Feedback 2/14

The only independent review I saw on line stated that it was a fine way to turn a 200 dollar knife into a butter knife. There were lots of paid for reviews stating it
was the holy grail of knife sharpeners and I believe that because it was on the internet.

Why did you post this; are we supposed to compare the two? My invention is a precision tool the other is a what; a precision tool? Right!

I contacted you and told you there was an opening on the passaround list for the ERU, but you declined. I assume you had no interest in checking out a precision made tool. :)

Maybe next time, Fred

Now now, let's not tell fibs, I never declined anything. You emailed me and said there was a list. Your email pointed me to the page the list was on, and when I went to that page to sign up, there was a requirement that I did not meet. I don't have the minimum amount of posts that you require, so I didn't bother you any further about signing up.

I posted the photo of the cheap sharpener because it was adjustable angle, which I hadn't seen before besides yours in a pull-through, and because I had recently been partaking in this discussion and thought it was relevant in a way, though it is quite obviously not made anywhere near as well as yours. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone buy one of the pictured pieces of junk.

The slot was yours; all you had to do was speak up. We are almost friends, I would have let the 250 post minimum slide; after all we have e-mailed each other half a dozen times.

Every time I respond to you, it distracts me from my purpose; which is gathering information and trying to bring this invention to market. When you post a giant full color picture of, what is obviously, a cheap mass produced "sharpener" it tends to interrupt the discussion and flow of information, which I believe was the intent.
An individual, patenting, manufacturing and bringing their own invention to market today, is almost unheard of. This is my second invention I must enjoy it.

I made my first post, sharing this new tool here on Blade Forums, because there are a lot of very knowledgeable and informed people who reside here and I am interested in what they think; looking for ways I might improve on my design.

You, personally, do not have to applaud my effort, but I would appreciate it if you would not derail the discussion intentionally.

So, once more, if you would like to be added to the end of one of the passaround list I will do that.

Fred

Fred, if you feel like I was trying to "derail" anything you are mistaken. Personally, I feel like a discussion forum is for discussing things. I tend to treat discussions here the same as discussions I have with friends in person. So for instance were I to be discussing adjustable angle pull-through sharpeners with a guy who was showing me one of yours, I might well mention the one I posted the picture of just for the sake of discussion, or even show him a photo I had taken on my phone just because of the conversation. I have made and sold a few products of my own also and I would have no problem at all if a person posted a photo of a competing product for the sake of discussion in any thread I might have regarding one of my products. At worst it's an opportunity to point out where your product is superior. I don't see why it would bother you or cause you to feel like your product is under attack. I don't believe that I've posted a single disparaging word regarding your sharpener; if I have, please point me to it. Further on that subject, you can't expect to make a post about a product on a public forum and not have people discussing that product in any fashion they choose or making comparisons to other products. That is the nature of a public forum.

I had sort of assumed the 250 post minimum was a subtle dig, honestly, and that is why I never bothered to mention it. The reason for that assumption was that originally you had offered to send me one of your ERUs before there was a passaround at all... Then you emailed and said sorry we don't have any to send out, maybe soon. Then you emailed again and said there's a passaround on the pass around forum. I sort of felt at that point that you didn't want to send one to me so I let the subject drop after seeing the minimum post requirement.

Mr Rowe,
I'm not up on all this techno-computer stuff, but I would definitely like to buy at least 4. How do I do this?
