With talk of a Esee Folder, Multi Tool, and proto type of a bag in here, was wondering, about small shovels like those the military use, or that offered by Gerber, or Cold Steel, any recommendations on those?

Last night I was finishing up some hw, and while my mind got numbed out, I started doodling, and thought to myself, what if Esee made a small axe, or a shovel, what else could or would they make? In this day and age, with the wheel literally being reinvented over and over, it was a gun little stint of day dreaming I had.

So was wondering, what have you guys thought of that may not or may be an interesting addition to their product line.

Theres already arrowheads, they offer various survival items, toss some ideas out, just curious to see what others have thought of.

Me: A shovel, foldable or not. A small axe, wears like hats, beanies, gloves, jackets, etc. Just thoughts :) I know they aren't in it for the broad sales or to just sell something and everything to someone somewhere, and I love that. But just wanted to see what could be, even if it never comes to pass :)

i think ESEE should stick to knives and knife related products, you sound like you need to go to a surplus store  ;)

I really wish they would come out with a good looking, ergonomic, hard use capable knife that didn't break the bank..........

No offense intended but I also think they should stick to knives and related items and plus it costs a lot to re-tool and set up machinery. ESSE already makes the best knives available for the money.

My Cold Steel shovel is a top notch beater..

I own a Glock folding shovel also that appears to be highly dependable and strong, although I haven't used it yet..

Again, how can ESEE make those things better?

i wasn't meaning to be rude or coolaid drinking nutjob. i just think they make a good hard use knife, and its just not all the expensive. yes you can get cheaper ones that will do just fine. but really whats 100 bucks for a knife in the long run.

take it easy

Yoda: No no, I know; was just wondering what could be ;P thats all! Don't beat me with the stick damn it! And yes I do, that or either cold steel, just to keep in the truck or something.

Future: Their knives don't actually break the bank, compared to some other brands out there that are comparable. Best bang for buck.

Cricket: You ain't rude, just blunt. lol. And no worries, was just a thread to see if others thought of anything else just on the slip of the mind that maybe they thought wow, "if" they did, what would it be, or could it be. :P just a thread all in fun to see what others thought.

"If it ain't broken don't fix it."

Still patiently waiting for more info and such on the pack, waiting on Junglas too. Dang it...

wasnt beating ya with a stick, just sayin that i think they should stick with knives and knife related products. and apparantly there is a multitool in the works after all, so i guess you never know.

Gerber's folding shovel, can't remember what it's called... but it's one of the few gerber products that seems to be above par. That shovel is light, durable and locks up SOLID. Probably worth the 20 bucks. Trying to decide if a flathead shovel would be more useful though...

i think it would be cool to see a multitool or hawk/axe but if they stick purely to knives i will still be a very happy customer

the CS SF shovel is really worth the $$ - and it's a blast to throw.
When you can find them, the old soviet surplus e-tools that the CS shovel is based on are even better. (just ask MrShotty11)
There a swede mil surp flat point shovel that throws well, too.
for a folding shovel, it's hard to beat the E German mil surp one with the pick on the back.

OTOH, the $7 mini D-handle shovels you can find at hardware & lumber big box stores are great for living in the trunk -- but they don't throw well.

I'd actually like to see a production 2-knife set, preferably an Izula and RC-5, in a factory piggyback sheath with a firekit pocket...but that's just me

could even put a zipper around it so it'd open up and store some other gear

I would definitely buy RC-6 with a piggyback Izula. That would be a bushcraft monster. I got a remora with each Becker and they are useless compared to an Izula. KNIFEABILITY-a must for all humans

can anyone post pics of this pack as i haven't seen it yet and have searched the site and found nothing.

esse knives are this shit and do great things but i have to say this.

KNIFEABILITY pls stop f'in posting about a must for humans....maybe post it as a sig line or something but damn its annoying to read your post to the bottom knowing whats gonna be said. i am not trying to be mean but i just couldn't take it after reading another post with that in it.
