From what I understand, the ones sold on the DPx site will be a limited run of 250 and will be serialized.

I'm thinking around 3.8oz -4.2oz of course as I said before weight is a HUGE factor for many including myself to EDC. Although I'm all in for one regardless...

Thanks for the Update !!!!

Rob

I'm curious about the weight, too. It seems like it needs to be heavier than that, though.

Comparing it to other G10/Ti framelocks, Spyderco's Chokwe is thin in design (in terms of the width of handle from spine down, width of Ti, and width of blade, and thickness of blade) and has those big holes to lighten it, coming in at 3.7oz, which is around your estimate. The HEST/F in comparison is bulkier, so I don't think it's going to match that weight. The XM-18 has slightly thicker ti than the HEST/F (.165" vs .14") but also a thinner blade (.165" on the XM18 to .187" for the HEST/F), with the XM-18 coming in at like 5.6-5.9oz. I'd guess the HEST/F will be more like 5oz, or maybe a fraction higher, but more comparable to the XM-18 than the Chokwe.

I guess we'll see in a few months :D

My Benchmade Nitrous Stryker is 3.74 oz - I expect the HEST/F to come in just over 4, due to the thicker blade (same material), thicker frame-lock design, and the fact it is overall a little thicker than the Stryker.

Im in for one. May have to get a numbered one, depending on what that consists of.

I have never been able to notice the difference between a few ounces in my pockets...no folder is going to weigh as much as a loaded GLOCK 27.

True, but I remember the HEST fixed blade came with a signed hardcover copy of Licensed To Kill, and I can't remember if it was more money than what the regular dealers were charging..

where did the paracord go. When the first specs came out said an 550 paracord US made afgahan campaign lanyard. Is a lanyard still coming with the knife??

I think that comes with the 250 Serialized one sold on DPx Gear's website
