ESEE Junglas!

I like the idea of someone turning it into something useable, because I'm not going to, but I don't think I'm up for running a contest. If someone else wants to set up a contest or other means of deciding who gets it, I'd happily give it away on the condition that it gets made into something and pictures are posted.

I'll set up a contest that will be very easy. I'll pick a number between 1 and 1000 ever who can guess the exact number wins.

The number is 414 my Rat pack number and I got it first so pm me for my address I'll cover postage too. See I said it was easy!

Well, I guess I'm in the market for a Junglas. This happened not five minutes ago while I was chopping down a black walnut less that two inches in diameter. I didn't hit any rocks or anything either.

That has a lifetime warranty on it so why not just get it replaced?

I was not aware Ontario had any kind of warranty on these, and in any case I'm sure I voided it by pouring hydrochloric acid all over the thing.
EDIT: Just so we're all clear here, this WAS NOT a junglas, or made by ESEE. It was an Ontario RTAK 1.

I'd make it into a shifter for 66 mustang fastback shell that I found over the weekend through a friend, apparently its been sitting stripped in their garage since 1971. lmao.

Man...I am so broke.
Good thing the old lady is deciding to move to florida and said I could have it and all the parts, the tools of her late husband, for cheap, and if I get everything out of there ;)

who's leg do you have to hump to get a junglas around here?

Last word from Mike:

ABout the only hold up at this point is the top of the sheath made of cordura. I spoke with the vendor making those on the 29th and they are cranking on them now but it will be another week and a half before he ships them to Idaho for assembly to the Kydex. It hurts to wait for us as well as you but believe me it will be worth it. You will love this knife and this sheath. Mike

tell me that the assembly to the kydex will only take a few hours :)

jeff said that the thing holding up the junglas' were the sheaths, and they should be to rowen any day now, so the junglas shouldnt be to far off.

Do we know if the spine remains .18" all the way to the tip, or if it tapers down to a false edge? I'm looking at making the Junglas my first ESEE purchase to replace my beloved BK9, hoping that it was a full spine as opposed to the BK9s false edge. Anyone know?

I think it's going to be a similar design to the other standard ESEE knives, no faulse edge. I could be wrong though.

Not to bring up any delicate, sensitive or forbidden subjects, but that would sure look nice with some G10 handles in Blue or orange. Not to mention the rest of the product line.......... :D

I've already turned down 2 different Busse Dog Father knives so I can get the Junglas when it ships.
Honestly, I'm beginning to get sick of hearing all of the hyped-up B.S. about tool steel or nothing. I WANT MY GIANT CHUNK OF ESEE 1095 NOW PLEASE.

I'm officially ready for the Junglas! I've got high expectations. This one could unseat my Becker BK-9 as my most capable big woods knife.

I'm right there with you AF, but it's going to a bittersweet replacement. I love the BK9, especially after stripping it and adding a gorgeous dark patina. There's just the matter of the false edge at the tip that i always cringe at, especially when i'm really hammering into it during batoning.

Speaking of which, i also got official word that there will NOT be a false edge on the Junglas. The .18" spine will taper down 2 inches approaching the tip, but definitely won't be a false edge.
