ESEE Knives and kits build around them....

Thanks guys !
Great set up DocBurn

I still got 2 days to find a better carry option.. the shoulder strap/knife in the back is something I always wanted to try.. but need to find the best way to get to the knife without removing the strap.. I grabbed the strap and turned it around myself and it work ok but like you said, having a counter balance pouch (water holder or something) would help keep it in place..

Where i go in the wild, i never remove the knife from my side, even when I sleep.. too much wild life in this area and don't want to try to find my knife if I happen to have to run or fight something. Thinking out loud.. maybe an horizontal belt carry in my back.. turn the belt/strap around my waist.. and could wear it while having my backpack (which I cant with the shoulder strap back carry) and also access the Janus survival kit.

Anyway.. the Junglas.. what a great tool.. very impressive when I unsheathed it for the first time.. the first thing I said was "Daaaaaaaamnnn!" :) I thought the 6 was a big knife..
whooooo buddy!

another option is twowolves has these Voodoo tactical bat belt things , that is padded and has molle loops all over it
I'm going to try one and make a Bat Belt :D who does not need a Bat belt ?

awesome kits. gotta wipe the saliva off of my keyboard.attached to your HEST sheath is ESEE's 5-6 pouch, correct? did you use paracord to attach the bottom 2 grommets to the sheath? it seems to be the case but i'm not too sure based on the pics. thanks.

2 screws at the opening at the sheath on 5/6 pouch and the paracord with lock on bottom... 2 screws are enough the paracord just keeps the pouch from flopping once loaded w/gear

are you talking about the Junglas set up ? that would be the Maxpedition Strap w/ pad(sold seperate) and the Janus pouch...
Doc & I both use it..works Great

keep the pictures coming Tony, great ideas and food for thought I have used a few myself and developed a few more because of your pics.

One question tony;
How do you keep your LM handle so nice and clean.....
I just cant keep Micarta clean no matter how hard i try. Some metal residu from sharpening and fixing the edge got onto it and had to to use a toothbrush to get it off. Now its light red at best. It does color back to red for a moment or two when i get sweaty hands though.
Had this with my RTAK-2 and now the LM, it just boggles my mind

I have to say that your photo of the gear stored in the H.E.S.T. handle should be used for advertising the knife by ESEE/DPx.

Maybe they will pay you royalties to use the photo... :D

The HEST has acool factor by storing items in the handle for all us grown up during the "Rambo" years.... LOL which are still going on :D

agreed. however, i hope i grew out of the "douchey bigass shiny knife" stage that the rambo movie series seemed to spawn from the 80's.

Love the Junglas kit, Tony! Gives me a few practical ideas on how to carry that thing. I recently got rid of all my big knives in favor of smaller (and more importantly, lighter) ones. I just hated carrying big, heavy blades.

But I've been drawn to the Junglas since it was first teased here on the boards.

Crap, now I may have to pick one up!

(I have a Janus already, so that'd be cool to try out!)

Dam Texas T, every size knife and kit to match. That is the most seamless set of kits and tools for anything bushcraft/survival, well done and excellent ingenuity. The thing is if you can put together things that creative you can probably survive with next to nothing. What knife and kit do you take/use the most?

Dawn dish soap works excellent
