ESEE Lite Machete

It must be linked with the Spanish fencing tradition. :D

Yes. That's it, exactly. You have already said too much.

I love those stores that they have on the cover in the grocery store aisle. Headline will read like "How to give your man an erection." I love to read those out loud with the line full of people!

Most women can give me one just by being in the same time zone with me.

It's amazing the things that are all related to a light machete. Machete talk. Just think. Somebody will have to read through all this bs just to find out how long the new machete is. I love it.

see....we are multitasking...not only will they be educated on the machete, but on life's little querks as well.......think of it as a public service:D

Also they maximize their ability to both chop and slice well by utilizing thin, broad blades. By putting the mass behind the cutting edge instead of to the side of it you get higher mass with less friction due to matter displacement, allowing it to bite deep without undue effort. That thin profile then allows it to feather a fuzz stick or prepare dinner, and the spring temper allows you to baton wood for the camp fire without much worry. :D:thumbup:

You mean they just cut well right?

:p

The longer they are, the heavier they are. Swing a 24" or 30" machete and you'll soon realize that. An 18" machete is usually a lighter one.

I'm a fan of a good distal taper on one. I've seen a 24" without a taper. Its called a cold steel latin machete, and its about as handy as a black light for a blind person.

Tapered or not, any 24" machete will wear this old man out fast. You are the only person I know who has more machetes than I have, Joe. We are not well. :D

There is always going to be someone worse than you (us) :P no matter how many I think or know I have, there is ALWAYS going to be someone who has more.

Sorry--Nerd is my primary language; English my second. :p

GOD don't even get me started about that one
We had a few in the shop to try them out and we could hardly give them away--and we tried! :barf:

42B, Thanks for the Fiddleback machete post. They look really nice and Im sure perform well. I just bought 2 (new realease) Condor goloks 14", 2 Tramontinas 18", an Ontario Mil-surp. 18", and an Imacasa 18" that looks like the Condor Viking. The Tramontinas are a great machete, a really good chopping machine that keeps an edge well, and for $6, you cant beat it!!! My next (hopefully) will be the RC machete. Why did RC call it a "lite machete"?

Because compared to the 20"-28" machetes they swing in South America it IS light! ;)

I have this one and this one. The smaller one is about what I imagine the RAT ESEE Lite will be. It is indeed light and handles like a dream. Can't wait to get an edge on the thing. The larger one is more of a poor man's scimitar and would be awesome for zombies. It is also somewhat tiring to swing for long periods of time, particularly for scrawny little whiteboys like me.

I have that monster, 28" Imacasa Guarazima too. That thing is a BEAST. It's big, and "waggly".:p It doesn't look like it should be as heavy as it is, but brother, that thing'll take the swing out of ANY zombie's step.
And I don't think there are many dudes who can swing it for very long. That's a "special application" machete for sure. I love it.

I swear I heard one of the RAT folks mention months ago that the Imacasa/RAT collaboration will be based on the 18" Condor El Salvador- which is an EXCELLENT all-round machete. My money's on this guy (but in carbon):

I have one of those riding in my trunk right now- it can take care of business.

Keep swinging it and you won't be scrawny for long!:D
